You mentioned Muse. I love Muse. I already love this album. I don't care how irrational that is. I want to hear this now.
thy r doing the same mistake coz MTM the seconde part was awful I mean after no more sorrow 4 slow pop song's make'S alot of people hate the album and thy r doing the same mistake now what the fuck mike???
this review just blew my mind. i am definitely eager to listen to A Thousand Suns even more, and i want to hear Mike say Mother Fucker LMAO. as for your post right here, i dont find the second part of MTM to be a mistake at all and is FAR from pop. and if anything, it has made them better artists, putting out what they want, and not worrying about losing their fanbase. now is the time for Linkin Park to start putting out tracks that they feel they need to make for themselves, and not for the fans, which is the kind of vibe i am getting between listening to MTM, and reading any review, including this one, about ATS.
Honestly, this album sounds fucking dope. Thank you for all the details on certain things, Ana. However, I'm highly doubtful of two things. 1) Chester rapping. That's not being edgy and different, that's just stupid. My guess is that Chester's "rapping" is more chanting or just paced yelling (don't tell me that's basically what rap is), similar to Mike's "God bless us" parts on The Catalyst. 2) Auto tune. Calling BS on that. Linkin Park would never do that. Probably just weird vocal effects that they said they were experimenting with, again, similar to The Catalyst. I'm making my judgement from listening to the album myself.
I don't think they would use auto tune, maybe it was a vocoder? Could have been a number of effects like they used in The Catalyst. I agree with Cookie monster, chester "rapping" is just a bit stupid. Though from the review it does seem Mike is a hell of alot more present than chester.
Vocoder, autotune, whatever - it's not necessary on Chester's voice. His voice is very good. Now, for Mike, he needs it. I understand using it in places, but I hope this doesn't turn out to be a Kanye West album like it sort of sounds like.
Depends what mood its in, it might just wait at the end of your street, hurling abuse, or it might climb through your letterbox...
Thxz for the review, makes me more excited. I hope they merely used sound effects rather than autotune in the songs, cuz I don't really think they need it. Chester rapping = wow...wasn't expecting this
Well first of all thanks to the reviewer Ana for taking the time to do this. Secondly, I'm so glad that I didn't preorder anything yet. I think I'm going to listen to the tracks first and then make my purchase. Everything sounds interesting but I don't like the idea of have multiple speeches in one record. I don't care about the album's time length as long as I like the songs. If the whole album was 10 mins I wouldn't care as long as I enjoyed those 10 mins.
From what shes said, it sounds like wretches and kings is gonna be a more original linkin park style song
I still can't grasp how you remembered all of this Ana. Didn't they not allow any notebooks and such?
Well, it's safe to say i'm even more stoked for this album than before. Thanks heaps for this Ana!!!!
im sure they wouldve allowed something to take notes, just as long as they didnt bring anything to record the songs.
In the shoutbox she said no notes were allowed (or maybe the usteam chat?). Maybe I misunderstood! And I agree with Cookie Monster. Those two things will be marked BS by me as well until I hear ATS myself.
