I love how everybody on these boards act like they grew up in the 70's.

I'm definitely interested to see how they do this. It could be good and it could be bad. I'm not really a fan of the original so i'll definitely be listening for this one

I myself am a fan of MCR but i'm definitely not 100% sure about this

We don't need to have lived in the generation to appreciate good music.

I didn't obviously, but I'm a huge David Bowie fan, and I don't want to see a classic like Under Pressure ruined.

The only bright spot about the whole thing is that it's going to charity.

Everyone acts like this is David Bowie's song when he's just featured on it. It's Queen's song.

I appreciate good music as well....but personally I think people try to jump on the band wagon saying crap like "I love the Beatles and Pink Floyd" when all they know is lonely people and comfurtably numb. Its like all these dumb posers wearing Led Zepplin and Doors shirt as a fashion statement. I can appreciate older music and understand where the roots of music come from, but Im not going to claim Im a big fan of the Beatles, or Black Sabbath when I only know their most popular songs (Like the Majority of people here). Its ok to like that music....but dont be a poser by acting like chemical romance is ruining your most precious childhood memories. Anybody who did experience that music and DESERVE to be pissed about this probably dont care, and neither should you.

edit- the funny thing is, if david bowie and queen came out in this generation and made that song....the majority of you people would be like "ewwwww what a gay song, they sound emo."
Im not saying the "G" word out of homophobia....Im just making fun of all these people here who listen to "metal" and claim to like Queen.

Maybe, but I do care, thus I don't care about 90% of what you just said.

Do I need to list my favorite Pink Floyd & David Bowie songs for you to prove you wrong?

Im not saying specifically you....Thats cool if you like that music.
Im saying there are alot of people here who act the way I describe.
And that should piss you off too.

Big deal. It's called having a taste in variety of music. People who claim to like metal don't have to listen to it all the time, you know?

    You should lighten up.

Because everybody here is ganging up on my chemical romance to act cool. Doesnt it piss you off when people make fun of LP to seem cool. Sure as hell pisses me off. I like alot of old music too and Im not saying other people cant....but when they try to use music as a heirarchy...that is wrong....we are supposed to respect all music.

besides, its a good cause. I personally dont think David Bowie would be mad even if he didnt like MCR.

Hey, I listen to My Chemical Romance and they're one of my favorite bands and I still think this cover/remake was a bad idea.

I don't think everyone is ganging up and hating on MCR. I think they're just expressing their opinion on MCR. Obviously us haters of MCR are in the miniority, since they're on MTV and they're popular. Why you bitchin' about it? They're popular. If you like them, that's cool. Some people don't, and we're just saying we don't. Nothing wrong with that.

As for a bunch of "metalheads" coming here and saying they like Queen and Bowie...either that's a direct shot at me despite what you say, or you're not very keen on what a metalhead, because there's maybe 3 or 4 true metalheads here. Oh, and it's called "Diverse Tastes In Music". I like Gorgoroth. I like Justin Timberlake. I own a Gretchen Wilson CD. I get stoned to Pink Floyd and The Beatles. I sing along to Good Charlotte. Don't classify me, and I won't classify you.

    :)

    You're a chode.

I can listen to anything I want. That can go from Nas, to Queen, to the Backstreet Boys, to 2pac, or to Iron Maiden for all I fucking care.

    Fuck.

EDIT : By the way Casey, Freddie Mercury > David Bowie.
