They debuted a new track Mercy, live. This is an audio recording of that. For some reason, this reminds me of Coldplay.
I can't say I'm a fan of this one off of the first few listens, unfortunately. This is the only one so far that I've had a notably negative reaction to so far. Perhaps it will grow on me, though.
The lyrics from the song "Drones" are this... “My mother… my father my sister my brother my son my daughter… killed by drones. Can you feel anything? Are you dead inside? Now you can kill from the safety of your home with drones. Amen.” Muse should never do a concept album ever again.
I can't fucking wait for the studio version.
I kind of like those lyrics, actually. Those are some more of the powerful ones. I think they've focused on the idea of a character who becomes a 'drone' more than the idea of how drones kill people and who actually is behind some of that stuff. I dno. Muse is hit or miss when they become a bit melodramatic but I can appreciate the over-the-top-'ness' of it.
Yeah, it all depends on the delivery. If it's Matt whining over a sad piano, it's gonna suck. But I'm imagining a WJL-like, dark, glitchy instrumental and robotic delivery, and that would work, as over-dramatic as it is.
Wow that's some basic shit. Hopefully it works in the context of the album(your aaaaaassssss belongs to me now) I still have a feeling this record is going to be a let down.
Can't say I've been really impressed with anything we have heard so far. Compared to past Muse albums the songs we have heard from Psycho just seem to lack the edge and punch of what we are used to. Matt said this record would be a return to the rock of their early career, but I haven't really heard it. Hopefully there are better songs on the rest of the album. As of now, I am disappointed.
Meh. There's a good song in there somewhere, but the verses really kill it. The intro to this sounds a like like Hot for Teacher BTW.
With every song that's released, I have to keep lowering my expectations. NOTHING so far has peaked my interest all that much.
I actually find this one to be the best that's been put out. I love how direct the references are to actual drone models, and the guitar riffs are more of what I expected from a record produced by the former producer for AC/DC. And that outro is great, truly. This is much more what I was hoping for.
This. I'm not huge into Muse, and there's only a few songs that I really enjoy from them, and so far, not one song has sparked my interest.
