The awards were cancelled before because Casey got banned. The last one was with Will and that was during the Olympic Games.

Let me break it down for you.

This board is very much like high school. There isn't actually any good discussion taking place (with the exception of a few forums), yet it never ends. In spite of the countless groups within groups, there is only one group that really matters.

This group is made up of Moderators, Admins, SuperMembers, etc. Anyone with power or has connections with those who have power. Everyone else will make every attempt to look cool and fit in with these guys.

Now, why would one want to be a positive member of a community that is more like a popularity test? Why would anyone want to be a positive member for a website that has, in a sense, turned it's back on the people who come here every day.

Everyone bitches about Linkin Park selling out, yet LPAssociation.com has done the same. It's been a long time since there's been an update that's actually worth checking out. What's even worse is that everytime someone mentions this, you give them some lame excuse for your lazyness. Before this site blew up, the admins made damn sure there was something to update.

Maybe instead of spending your time writting unprofessional speeches on the site news and updates, you could make a few more wallpapers or something people actually want.

Look at Jas from LPT. She has bandwidth issues too, but she continues to pull through with updates and such. That one person is doing more than your entire "staff" combined. It's one thing to slack, but another when you have such a large website.

Maybe you guys are working on some secret unknown project. I doubt it, but I'd like to think that's the case. Either way, you guys don't deserve to have the #1 Linkin Park site.

A little effort goes a long way.

The whole State of the Art situation was basically handed to you. So, would it be impossible for you to find someone to host a little something for you until things are sorted out?

What does Jas being nice have to do with the fact that she does more than your entire staff combined?

First off, J Money, the 'important' people aren't necessarily in power. Supermember is in title only. There is no power in that name except for the little banner at the bottom of your name.

Second, the reason why there aren't that many updates is because... well... there isn't that much to update. Last time I checked, the only thing going on with LP was the lawsuit and even if Fort Minor counted as LP News, stuff is still posted. That, and this isn't FMAssociation.

Designing a site is very hard (as I freelance professionally, and would thus know), and is further complicated by the complexity of the site. LPTimes is a great site, but it is strictly as advertised, a news site. LPAssociation is very comprehensive, from a forum, chatroom, image galleries, articles, singles, lyrics, reviews, etc. I would imagine it is very hard to update it as such, and even worse to overhaul it in similar fashion. In HTML it would be easy, but I haven't dealt much with php so I have no clue how that would be.

I would not describe this community as a high school. You use the analogy to incorporate the popularity contests and the cliques, but high school is strictly a learning environment. This community is exactly what it is, a community. Discussion happens all the time, and whether you judge it to be good or not is entirely your opinion. But communities don't rely entirely on good discussions. It's the bond between members, and I believe this site has achieved this to great effect.

Not everyone bitches about selling out. They complain about song structure, content, the way the music is made. They are, as people always will be, critics. It's not wrong to do that. A lot of people on this forum love Linkin Park... why else would they be here? But of course members will have suggestions.

Suggestions... maybe you should suggest ideas to the wonderful team here rather than criticize them.

 

I don't know where your getting at. Your telling me that LPTimes is just a news site, and that there is no news at the moment. Yet that news site is updated more frequently than the comprehensive site.

PHP is easier to update than HTML when done correctly.

Here's a suggestion: update the site.
