+ 10000. Do you remember why you've become fans of LP ? What is the first reason ? I think 90 pct of the old fans would answered for the Chester's Voice. I discovered LP in 2003 with Meteora and I was " Holly shit, this guy is the best singer of the world, his voice is incredible". Meteora is the not the best, sure but never forget why you've become fans.

I haven't forgotten why I've become a fan, and if anything I feel that Chester has explored his range a lot more in the last two records than he did on the first two. Preferring a newer album over an older album doesn't at all mean we've forgotten why we're into the band in the first place.

Oh boy. Would be a good joke if he actually posted the full song, and we'd all believe it was a fake

I actually became a fan by MTM. I then went back and listened to HT and meteora.

Just to say - that's an excellent way of putting it. It seems simple when you think about it, but I've genuinely never thought of it that way before. Well worded sir, I agree 100%.

I first heard Linkin Park from Transformers 2 with New Divide, not from Meteora. Then I bought Minutes To Midnight, my first LP record. I'd say that was my favorite album, and after that I ripped Hybrid Theory and Meteora from my friend. After that I started really listening to LP, and A Thousand Suns came out and I completely rejected the album when I heard the softer songs. I was a bit of a metal head, so I just didn't like ATS because I wanted the "old LP". It wasn't until I heard Waiting For The End and The Catalyst, then that's when I got the full album and now LP is my favorite band. Cool story, bro.

I don't think your friends quite understand what "raw" is, or the fact that Chester pulls off a good variety of vocal performances throughout "A Thousand Suns", but, okay

Thanks. And I don't blame you for not thinking of it that way, a lot of people don't. It's easy to get caught up in this pride thing of "I like it so it must be the best."

No, no frick no, i do not agree with this at all, just because some one's criteria is different doesn't mean one is better than the other. Take this as an example, a lot of rock music is more complex then a lot of pop music so does that make rock the superior genre? no, its all opinions. Objectivity never comes into play for music, because it's all opinions. One person may think Linkin Park is not creative at all, but one person may think Linkin Park is very creative. This is opinion, it is subjective, not objective. Objectivity does not exist in music because it is all opinions.

Getting back on the topic of what this thread was created for (and getting away from ridiculous Meteora debates)...I just hope this album feels "different". The reason I've always supported this band (even when I felt at times that they were retreading over old ground) is the fact that they always found a way somehow or another to keep me guessing. There was always at least one track on every album that stood out as a track that no other artist could do, and I think what made ATS special is that (for the most part) it was a whole album full of those surprises.

I just want this new album to continue that. I want an album that can only be Linkin Park.

Hey Derek, a person on LPL found this, it's apparently a review from Rolling Stone about the album (or some of the album)? not sure if this true: but here is what it says:

    A NEW BETTER TRANSLATED VERSION

If anything is clear from this new material, it's that Linkin Park doesn't intend to return to the sound great success of their 2000 debut album, Hybrid Theory. However, although the guys continue their ventures into the world of electronica, they seem to be more inclined to experimenting on their 5th album, achieving a high level of musical quality while setting lyrical complexity aside.

The album begins with an introduction that slightly touches upon the sound of "A Thousand Suns." "Severium is the first song on the album, an instrumental that is representative of the album's overall sound and bears so similarities to "Session." "Noise Behind the Wall" begins with a great rap from MC Mike Shinoda, with incredible timing to recite the lines, "It's not a voice behind my head/It's sound like the noise behind the wall." "Burn it Down" is the strongest of the new material, with an intro featuring modified voices leading into an explosion of distorted guitars. A very strong melody in the style of "Somewhere I Belong" is featured in the chorus, as Shinoda and Bennington scream "Burn it down/Let it go." "Avengers of Another Time" is a powerful ballad and perhaps the track closest to the Nu Metal style of 2000. It has a melodic chorus and tremendous keyboard track. "Lost In The Echo" is a rap ballad that starts with a soft piano intro, but gains force with Mike Shinoda's rap, leading to a semi epic chorus, "Hey look at me/I'm just like you/I'm all you see/If you don't like/Simply fuck you."

"Lightning Strike" is an anthem with all the lyrics of a future classic, with simple, but ingenious lyrics and incredible piercing screams by Bennington, culimating with roars similar to those of the African savanna, which lead into the final track of the album, "Namibia." It is a song with different and changing rhythms, with similar percussion to "When They Come For Me", but more in the form of a ballad. The choruses are truly emotional and a great end to an album that seems to be a great payoff to a large risk from Linkin Park.

    Absolutely, positively, undeniably, unequivocally fake.

...did I mention it's fake? Trust me on this. It's not even worth discussing [IMG].

In other news "If You Do Not Like, Simply Fuck You" is LPA's new slogan.

Fake. Joke. Of bad taste. Because doing April Fools on LP's new material is just playing with people's nerves at this point, haha.

EDIT: the better translated version makes a ton more sense. And it's more exciting.
