It's going to be a potential feature length film Joseph, not a game =] Best part of the interview: "Like Raiden’s not going to be an electrician with lasers on his forearm or anything like that. I have no interest in doing anything like that.".
Haha, yeah, I didn't read all the posts, only the main one which said its either a game or a movie, I just guessed. lol
Yeah, apparently it's going back to 2D. I like the trailer but I'm not OVERLY impressed with it. It looks like it plays like the 3D games still and that's not a good thing. If they can update the original playing style into something new and fluid then I'll be happy, but it looks too much like the 3D games at the moment and I don't want anything like that really. I guess I'll wait until E3 to see how it really is.
On one hand I want to say this is a step in the right direction for the MK series, but on the other, I've been burned on every release since like MK4 and I really have no reason to believe this will be good. MK vs. DC pretty much sealed the proverbial coffin for me. I want to hope this is going to bring some life back to the franchise, but I severely doubt it. MK trailers often look much better than they play. It looks like despite going the Street Fighter 4 route the gameplay still looks very floaty. The combos don't seem to be very fluid and that's what I hated about the 3D Mortal Kombat games. In the old school MK games, everything was very tight, which is what made it so satisfying. Maybe it's just the camera angles and effects but compared to other modern day fighters that have come out (Street Fighter, BlazBlue, and even Tekken), the movement just doesn't seem fluid enough, especially considering these are probably professional executions. As elitist as it sounds, I'd prefer they go back to MK2-MK3, fix it up and make it prettier... but not like the Turtles in Time remake.
I want this to be good. I haven't played a REALLY good MK game in awhile. I liked the 3D games but I prefer the first 3 over any. In particular 2
