    Although the picture says absolutely NOTHING official about the release date of Linkin Park’s fifth studio album, it is interesting to speculate why Mike has tweeted this image.

    So let's see, Mike jokingly and teasingly chides us on twitter for posting an article that speculates the album is gonna be out in 2012, and now Mike posts an image suggesting the same thing. Mike, why are you so confusing? :lol:

    I thought the same thing as I was posting it. I was thinking, "Please Mike, don't comment about my first news post by saying Instagram pictures are not a reliable source of information" :lol:

    So I'll state again, the new album release date is NOT CONFIRMED! That picture is a mystery...

    I can't see this as anything but LP5 confirmation for 2012 but I wouldn't put it past Mike to do Laser Pointer 2012.

    In their previous writing process they wrote lyrics last; I'm not sure but I'm inferring that this is a picture of a note pad with lyrics. Perhaps they're releasing a single soon (meaning a month or a few months) or they're just giving us a studio update saying, "Hey, look we're coming along getting work done."
    Then again Mike likes to tease us xD
    Regardless, can't wait to hear their new album.

    Nobody has mentioned the "the" on the paper. I think it must mean the album is named "the." That, or Mike's including exactly one word to get us to all make crazy speculations so he can laugh at us.

    I just found something revealing in this picture.. the note it has L.P. 2012.
    They're definitely making an LP in 2012 because they want to be old-school damn I don't have an LP player.
