Mike Shinoda has released a brand new track titled "fine" which was written for the movie "The Blackout" which is in theaters across Russia on November 21st and Germany, Austria, and the Baltic States on November 28th. You can check out footage of the movie in this video below which incorporates the track: The new song is now out worldwide. What do you think of the new song from Mike Shinoda?
Already listened to it (thank god VPNs!) and liked it. I like that he decided to go a bit heavier on the instrumental compared to PT.
It's a step up in production from PT and even what is on ATS imo. The chorus is repetitive and not in a really great way. The lyrics feel more uninhibited than most of what is on PT, if that makes sense. On PT it sometimes felt like he was holding back on lyrics because he didn't want the songs to be too dark. Here it feels more natural. I don't think I would stop and look up who the artist was, if I heard this somewhere. It's not to discredit Mike Shinoda, it's just that I don't care for his solo music that much. I think it's good for him to continue making music though with what happened to LP.
tzz, people and their opinions somehow still need to wait 6 hours for be able to listen to the song lol. Tbf, i am a bit disappointed that it isnt the last music video.
I was not prepared for this. Wow. Feeling the Nine Inch Nails vibes all over this. It's dark, dramatic and the most experimental his music has sounded in half a decade. Oh, and yet another example of how Mike could definitely be the frontman for Linkin Park moving forward.
I was really disappointed at first....after a couple listens, though it's pretty good..definitely a grower.
Found it easily on google. Not a fan of this song it’s pretty weak. Everything on PT is better than this song IMO. But hey it might grow on me!
Agreed! The grittiness of it and the doubled vocals in the 2nd verse are outstanding. This feels like a Linkin Park track.
I simply enjoy how well Mike surprises us over and over again with fresh tracks. Celebrating this one already. Great track.
Hope this leads to something bigger, IMO tge artwork is teasing something on the horizon, if you look at the bottom part of it(reddish, pinkish part) with the "the future(feeling?)starts now" thing, which personally I think is a fucking great album title and I will be really happy if Mike does something out of the PT style and vibe and explore more of his musical influences and inspirations. Song is really a nice, tough, gritty one which I could listen on repeat and I hope future material is in the same direction.
This is the direction that Mike should pursue with LP. This with ATS music and they could make it work very well. This song is interesting and that's what I'm enjoying about it.
