They signed a huge contract with EA some years ago. A few months before ATS came out, I believe.

That LPU chat has me happy seeing that Mike still seems to be going for the 'bring rock back' approach. Can't wait to hear it!

 

I know I'm super late to this party but I'm very pleased and excited to see that LP is taking a different approach to crafting their latest album. I wonder if the inclusion of eight-string guitars and emphasis of guitars via all the studio pictures indicates that guitars will indeed take the forefront over electronic samples and elements. As much as I enjoy ATS and LT, I have to admit that I'm a bit tired of electronically-focused songs and would very much appreciate hearing a greater emphasis on guitars this time. I am also excited to see that the band is continuing to experiment with their sound and are even trying new things. This could be a great year for us LP fans. I ultimately hope that Mike is living up to his word about his views toward rock music and will work with his bandmates to bring us something quite special and unexpected.

 

Everything from studio pictures, studio updates, and quotes from Mike Shinoda are all pointing to a more guitar driven album. Not heavily guitar based per se, but more forward in the context of the song compared to LT and ATS. I'm really hoping LP6 is going to be a less electronic, more organic sounding album. MTM is my favorite album by them for this reason.

The thing that has got me hyped the most is the studio jamming!

 

Lmao once the hype gets going I generally just come to the site for updates and Im out, for this reason. The site becomes like a massive ADHD support group. It starts off fine, you leave the conversation, come back and the whole has just derailed
