Mike Shinoda's brand new album Post Traumatic is releasing today at midnight (June 15th) and is already available in some countries. This is Mike's first fully solo album outside Fort Minor's The Rising Tied in 2005. The album consists of sixteen tracks and has been described as a chronological journey of Mike dealing with the passing of Chester, how life has changed, dealing with the grief of losing someone close to you and everything in between. The album has been written over the past year and promises to be a therapeutic in-the-moment experience of how Mike has felt during this time. Congrats to Shinoda! And thanks to LPA for great coverage, once again, leading up to an album release!
I'm going through a 5 year relationship breakup right now. This album came in the perfect moment for me. Losing my first and only gf feels exactly like grief, and Mike's music is helping me to mourn. The lyrics fit so much it seems they were written for me. This is magical about all LP related work, we identify deeply with the emotions of the songs. Thank you so much Mike, i want you to know your music is trully a therapy to me.
Since the album was this fantastic (Bravo, Mike), I'm even more bummed there's no vinyl release as of now...
I’m already in love with the whole album after only one listen, but as of now Brooding and Promises I cant keep are by far my favorites. Every song is just so unique, wow.
I'm going to try to wait til midnight, then listen to the full album. For those that have heard the new songs, does it sound like this album will get out there in the public and have songs on the radio? Or is this just great music that only Linkin Park fans will be aware of (that's what it seems to be so far lol).
I think one or two will be, and not for the right reasons.. just because Chester passed and it’s getting a lot of media attention. The guy is incredibly skilled and he sang this raw and while he was sore, he deserves the uttermost respect.
Damn, @Joe, that is one sexy looking thread. Can't Hear You Now is fucking amazing. Holy shit. Thank you Mike for this incredibly special album. <3
So this album is amazing. Of the unreleased songs, my early favorites are Hold It Together and World's On Fire, though there isn't a song I actually DISLIKE. And I 100% understand Mike's decision to not put Looking For An Answer on the tracklist. It just wouldn't have fit I think.
