It would be much bigger for something like this to happen in 2013, ten years after the release of the album.
MOST of the SCRAPPED METEORA DEMOS were somehow used to REANIMATION-INSPIRED material.... like UNFORTUNATE and HALO from LPUX, those were concrete examples that should be in METEORA but did not make it to the FINAL PROCESS... maybe, LPU12 will be more loads of METEORA materials cos i would like to hear more about those demos even if its instrumental or not...
I'm not a fan of Buble either, but I would have been interested to hear what they put out, if they did put it out.
*sigh* I really wish people would stop taking the whole "scrapped second album" quote so literally. No, Linkin Park did not record an entire album of material and decide start over from scratch after it was done. They just ended up not using a lot of the demos they wrote early on during the Meteora writing process. If that quote Phoenix made about the "sophomore jinx album" being scrapped was true in a literal sense, Somewhere I Belong, Lying From You, Session, Faint, and From the Inside would all have been abandoned, as the demos of those tracks were all started in the tour bus studio in 2001-2002. Phoenix was most likely just referring to the fact that the band went through two separate writing phases for Meteora - one during the last part of the Hybrid Theory touring cycle, and one after they finished working on Reanimation in mid-2002. A lot of what wound up on Meteora happened to come from that second writing period.
