It is. From the official Metallica site... 1. That Was Just Your Life 2. The End of the Line 3. Broken, Beat & Scarred 4. The Day That Never Comes 5. All Nightmare Long 6. Cyanide 7. The Unforgiven III 8. The Judas Kiss 9. Suicide & Redemption 10. My Apocalypse
Unforgiven III... Unforgiven II was a pretty crappy sequel to a song that was decent at best in the first place (save for the fact that Unforgiven contains one of Kirk Hammett's best solos). Knowing that that's on there while there's another, presumably original, track that's been left off the album, kind of makes me a bit apprehensive.
Why? Only half of Metallica's discography includes a title track. Only Master of Puppets, ...And Justice for All, and St. Anger have title tracks. And the original listing was from a music tabulature retailer, and it wasn't numbered. It was listed in the same order, but it could very easily be mistaken as using the title as the first track.
That's not the point I'm making. I'm curious as to why they cut it from the album. If it was to do with the length of the album then surely it would have made better sense to cut a different song rather than the title track. I dunno, maybe I'm just over/underthinking it.
I think he is saying maybe no "Death Magnetic" track exists and they just accidentally had posted the CD title as it's own track.
Yea, Larz said quite a while ago that ther would only be 10 tracks, and that's what we're getting. There have been a few fake tracklistings floating around, which had Death Magnetic as one of the songs, but this is the only real confirmed list we've ever gotten. Even the fake lists that I've seen didn't have an The Unforgiven III.
I have always found Metallica incredibly boring, and think the vocalist has to develop the ability to not sound the exact same in every song. This hasn't really changed my opinion.
That song is pretty rad. According to James (in Kerrang I believe) the album is going to be somewhere in between MOP and Ride The Lightning and you can kind of see what he means.
First single, "The Day That Never Comes" is being released tomorrow at 11am pacific time. They played "Cyanide" live, but articles keep saying that "Cyanide" is one of the weaker tracks on the album. "The Day That Never Comes" is supposed to be pretty intense.
