i suppose they might. i hope they don't do what Lostprophets did with their last album and release the first single like 2-3 months before the album comes out

 

Lostprophets are one band that have done that. They've had two albums where they've released two singles before the album.

 

At least you guys have the new Lostprophets album.

 

Well then I think that raises my theory to...some what plausible. What has me thinking this is how Mike said "Let's not assume what's a single or an album title, shall we?" When he said that, people were like "Oh so ATS is the single and the Catalyst is the album!" Well that can't be the case with the new info. An album doesn't come out before a single lol. Maybe Mike was just messing with us or he was trying to drop a hint.

 

Releasing 2 sinlges before the album isn't creative though. No, there's no doubt in my mind that "A Thousand Suns" is the album.

Re: Touring - Some bands tour right after, some are already touring when the album drops, some release the album and then start touring a few weeks later.

My guess is LP will do a few "album launch" gigs in the U.S. and then hit South America a couple weeks later.

 

The thing is, i think they'll release the album while on tour, and fans can get one or two songs instantly.

Technically, bands tour AFTER an album to promote it. Why promote an album that isn't even out yet?

 

To get a head-start on promoting it.

 

Seriously, yeah.

 

Maybe we Aussies suck when it comes to good bands touring the country whilst maintaining good timing.

 

Yeah, I really don't like the title A Thousand Suns, it is great for a song but for an album? I kinda don't get it.

 

Dont forget to mention Godsmack, who released Whiskey Hangover half a year before The Oracle was released
