Message 3 - The Catalyst /// August 2

So, new single August second aye... Cool.

 

When I read "The Catalyst", I can't really associate it with Linkin Park. The title is just not...LP-ish. Then again, back in the MTM-era, I never thought they'd have a title like Shadow of the Day or Leave Out All the Rest. Anyway, it sounds different and much more complex and neutral. Stoked to hear it!

 

When I first read this I thought something like 'thats bulshit' ! But now I think its actually a good point!

It sounds more like a name for a working title/demo!

But no doubt that this name will be on the album somehow!

 

Well, when we read the new album song list I bet it'll be the same for the majority of the list.

LP has a tendency to keep..kinda ouuta of the box names...but the lyrics is basically wat i'm more enthu abt...

 

Who cares, they can have all the crappiest song names ever, as long as the songs are kick ass.

Because LP music it's Just so Nice and Unique..... ! WE LOVE LINKIN PARK FOR THE Uniqueness and for many more things ....

I mean the lead single .... i Hope it will be as cool and Nice as What ive Done , Somewhere I belong ...etc ....

 

Definitely the whole track listing will be weird for everyone at first. The Catalyst sounds more like something coming from Tool or A Perfect Circle. Would be dope to have a progressive metal feel to the album

 

So you care if the song is called "we're stupid" but is the best song in the whole world?

I actually don't mind about the song name, only is the awesomeness of the song counters that.

 

My opinion is also 2nd april for single The Catalyst.
About A Thousand Suns, is ok, it doesn't seem an album title NOW, but if it should be it, i am sure we can relate to it through all the songs concepts altogether.
I agree also with who said The Catalyst doesn't sound as an LP title song, i had the same impression. And i do like this more than the past if you ask me. There's more complexity. And if the album name has to be simple but resumes the whole meanings of the songs, i don't see why they shouldn't use it.
About snippets: i really don't understand people wanting it. We got them everytime for new songs, and everytime people were speculating negatively about it, simply because the truth is 30 seconds are nothing to get into the mood of a song, and less than ever to get an idea of the album. I'd prefer to be quiet and have it all at once and enjoy it as it has to be.
Maybe Blackbirds would have been liked more without snippets, because people were in love with Mike's part, had a wrong expectation of the song and erased all Chester's one, so really, what's the point?

 

With the messages/riddles getting easier to figure out, I'm starting to think that they'll release the tracklist with each of them.

 

The Nu-Metal LP is long gone folks.

Linkin Park's track titles are usually a word or phrase from the chorus. But I don't think they'll be using "The Catalyst" in the lyrics. If they do that with all the tracks, it'll be a big difference.
