Personally Mike Shinoda's notes in this mall clip sound unnatural. Tuned to a higher pitch almost to the point it doesn't sound like his singing voice.
I also remembered a small bit about Drawbar. There is a series of piano notes that sounded just like stairway to heaven for about 5 seconds.
You remembered part of the song still in your head? Or you forgot to write something down about the song?
Turtle, is there any heavy screaming or anything that stands out that chester really has an amazing voice?
This might be the explanation for why it sounds a lot like Shinoda but not completely - also, thank-you for weighing in on this for us. Strangely enough, he hasn't tweeted about the trailer at all
i'm never going to listen to the full song then they'll ruin it with shitty guitars, streaming, etc. edit: thank fucking jesus. fuck THP lol
It's funny how people are debating rather or not this is Mike singing - When it's obviously Mike. And then discussion rather or not it could be ALITS - When Mall is supposed to have an OST(original soundtrack) Anyway the movie looks kind of cheesy but in a cool way. And the song sounds pretty amazing. Sometimes i wish LP had gone full folk style on LT and hadn't thrown out all the indie demos from before THP But I still can't wait to hear THP, it will probably make me eat my words. BTW this is a step up from Mike vocally. It makes me happy that in a few years maybe Mike can take the leading vocal spot on more songs. Can't wait to hear his vocals on THP, that's for sure
Yes check out my review! As for a quick answer, Keys To The Kingdom will rewrite your views on what he can do.
That still leaves the possibility that music heard in a movie trailer won't be included on the movie's soundtrack; if it weren't for Shinoda's vocals, we'd have no idea if the music in the trailer is connected to the film at all. Anyway, the debate is more or less settled. I'm very glad to hear that the song is for "Mall" and will most likely appear on the soundtrack album.
I had this same thought a little while ago.. Wouldn't it be a kick in the pants if this turned out to be an unfinished demo, and doesn't even appear on the soundtrack album either? ..Or if they never release the soundtrack at all, and the only listen we get is in the actual film, buried in dialogue, sound-effects, and cut into snippets?
I'm so jealous of you but at the same time I'm so thankful that you took the time out to write reviews and stuff.
Wow can't wait for that track now! So basically nothing better than the 18 sec scream in given up? But thanks for the reply
