17 tracks is great, a deluxe edition would be awesome as well with like 2 more tracks. that would be awesome
I already have this album A rep for Atlantic Records comes into my shop and hooked me up with an advanced copy. But shhhhhh, don't tell anyone.
Sad news and good news. First this: http://allhiphop.com/2012/09/05/hip-hop-rumors-chief-keef-threatens-lupe-and-lupe-replies/ After that, Lupe said F&L II would probably be his last, no Skulls, then released American Terrorist Part II for The Lupend Blog. We had Part 1 and 3, now 2. http://www.thelupendblog.com/2012/09/lupe-fiasco-american-terrorist-pt2.html I love it, it definitely describes how I imagine Lupe feels about the rap game, but he definitely shouldn't quit.
Well honestly, he wanted lupEND to be his last after The Cool. It was supposed to be a triple album to satisfy his contract (instead of there being Lasers, TGARA and Skulls). That was the only time he ever said the album was his "last". This sounds like he is more done with Chicago and Hip Hop's BS and might break contract. lupEnd wouldn't have broken contract. Before he was suicidal (as he has stated) due to some losses in his life, now he seems happier, but fed up with the politics of hip hop.
Just last month he said after finishing Skulls (his last with Atlantic), he'd go indie and work on more experimental hip-hop. And now he drops this on us. When it comes to retirement talk I take Lupe's word with a pinch of salt.
#FL2 1&2 + #Skulls = Contract Fulfilled then off into the sunset to make what I feel… #Liberation (via Lupe Fiasco) From the Japanese Cartoon official FB page. He's not "retiring", just getting out of Atlantic for good.
Good news, and also, it seems someone else must've gotten their hands on it early, too. The album leaked today.
anyone listen to the leak and able to tell me what the qualities like? source says 148kb/s and i haven't listened to anything lower than 192 in a while so i can't remember how bad it is.
Album is miles better than LASERS, I like it. But I can't get on board with some of the beats/hooks (Heart Donor, Battle Scars, Brave Heart, Cold War etc.)... they really drag this album down. Still a pretty awesome album.
