Dingleberry, Victimized demo w/ gang vocals, Skin to Bone demo, SOTD demo, an MTM demo with at least a verse or two of vocals, and (least likely based on time since the release) Tom Morello jam session recordings.
I think LPU14 should be re-recordings of Meteora tracks, with new modern guitar-god riffs and solos! \m/ Think about it... Numb with SOLOS... Fuck the poppy-ass mainstream synths!
1. Robot Boy (Alternative Vocal Take 2) 2. Robot Boy (Alternative Vocal Take 3) 3. Robot Boy (Alternative Vocal Take 4) 4. Robot Boy (Alternative Vocal Take 5) 5. Robot Boy (Alternative Vocal Take 6) 6. Robot Boy (Alternative Vocal Take 7) 7. One Step Closer (Live) Seriously: I would also enjoy some more demos with vocals. Of course it would be best if those would be previously unheard songs. Meaning not something like alternative vocal takes (although they are interesting). But I wonder how many of those there actually are... Real, complete, but scrapped songs (due to whatever reason)!
I'd love to get some alternate vocal takes or other demos of songs we already have. It's interesting to see where a song came from as it turned into the song we all are familiar with. I love demos like Stick N Move or Oh No because they show such a bare-bones early version of the song that it's barely even recognizable outside of a few sounds here and there.
I'm glad others agree with the no roads left and extended Powerless tracks, I just think they are songs which have only ever been breifly mentioned but I've always remembered and every year I hope for them. The other 9 tracks can all be bad quality phone recordings of Wish live for all I care as long as I get 1 of those 2 finally
Hybrid Theory is my favourite CD by them so I'd love to hear more demos from that era, or maybe more HTEP demos. I think if they mixed it up and just added demos from Xero to The Hunting Party all on one CD that would be awesome. Maybe add more song tracks instead of the 9-12 we've been getting on past LPU CDs, especially if tracks are under a minute.
I personally love the alternative-vocal-take tracks. Even things like Fear, where the music is essentially complete (And unchanged in LOATR) but the lyrics are different and preliminary. Although I'd prefer less Donna, that ruins my ability to listen to the track for reasons outside of the "Because it's interesting".
I'm actually wanting to hear a few Somewhere I Belong alternate takes. Since it was rewritten a few thousand times, it seems like there would be at least one recorded version of other lyrics that might be less cheesy...
I'm done with somewhere I belong. If the rest of the band and the producer thought the lyrics weren't good enough, it probably is true. Like, I don't see how those lyrics could be anything interesting.
Guilty All the Same, Wastelands, Rebellion and A Line In The Sand are by far the best in instrumental terms. See, I'm a metal fan and I'm praising their guitar parts.
I always hope there are a few unreleased full songs like Pretend to Be. The demo's are nice but they don't have replay value to me.
