So wait, I'm confused. You always say you want LP to go back to their 'nu-metal' sound and you thought Minutes to Midnight was bleh, but you like the songs from MMM...COOKIES?
the more I listen to this, the more I like it. NOW my only complaint is that the songs weren't long enough, but I guess the more they give, the more we bitch, eh? I love 26 Letterz In Da Alphabet. I am digging the version on youtube more though. A fan normalized the pitch and you can clearly tell it's Chester and IMO, it sounds even better.
You say that, yet you deleted my post in that thjread when I stated my opinion. On topic: Finally found myself a copy, awesome stuff. I'm most likely gonna get the package now as long as the t-shirt is good.
1. You Ain't Gotsta Gotsta 2. Bubbles 3. No Laundry 4. Da Bloos 5. PB N' Jellyfish 6. 26 Lettaz In Da Alphabet
The revolution is starting... down with meteors! Up with delectable edible cookies! Those hamster-like jewels from America!
It's an hilarious CD. It does remind me of how the Japanese Pop Culture as people have already previous stated. I really wish the No Laundry song was longer though.
I really like the CD. I don't understand the people who are so pissed off about them doing this. I get that it's not every fans taste, and I understand those who express their opinion constructively against it, but the people who say it's a fuck you to the fans or whatever are ignorant and hypocrites. I'm sure they're the same people who wanted a "full length Wizard Song!!!", and now they've got an Six track CD of LP joking around and having a laugh, they're against it. Funny. What's even better is that this CD is an OPTIONAL purchase as part of a BONUS EXTRA for a membership that we CHOOSE to be a part of. If you don't like it that much just don't join (even though the CD is one of many aspects to the LPU anyway). You've already got it for free by downloading it anyway, and people still complain. If LP want to release six songs that require a sense of humour to listen to then let them. It's just amazed me (not necessarily on this board) of how many "fans" have been so annoyed by this. Who gives a shit. I've never seen such an example of hypocrites who wanted new material and now pissed off that they've got it, and are angry because it's not what they wanted. I would probably even understand slightly if it was an ACTUAL ALBUM, but for me, a six track CD as part of the 8th year of their fan club has offered something unique, funny and a great CD that I can laugh along to with Linkin Park. I for one will be joining Sylar and pumping this in my car, and just enjoying it.
If people just don't like it then fair dues. All of these overly dramatic negative responses are ridiculous though. To extend slightly upon what Dave said, there are bands out there who don't distribute much music at all through their fan clubs and are more likely to just give you free merch or discounts, which would be closer to a slap in the face and whatever (not that it necessarily is). As bands of their size go LP are one of the better ones when it comes to how they treat their fans. For the love of ODB, don't be so ungrateful.
Remember, guys, the LPU and Mike did say that the EP would be unlike anything they had ever done before. So I don't see why everybody's so surprised.
