He never said "this is what the band was supposed to do forever". Stop trying and practice what you preach aka don't be disingenuous and misinterpret other people's statements lol
Interesting info from Chester's press in NY today: He mentioned he does the backing vocals on those tracks.
I see no reason to criticize them for THP comments vs Heavy's sound. I always interpreted it as they simply wanted to make some hard rock again for an album, they did that, and now they're happy to make whatever. They didn't hate the new sounds on the radio, they just missed what they considered fell under the word "rock". When you look at their spotify/tweets etc. it's clear they don't hate modern rock sounds at all. They're as inspired by it as everyone else is inspired by them.
Again, I'm not saying they should be doing that forever or even implying that's what he meant by those statements. I even mentioned I am very much looking forward to the new album... Oh. And I'm not projecting but you can keep saying that if you'd like.
"I rap" YES! I made a post months ago saying that was one of my wishes, to have Chester rap on a song and Mike sing. I thought it wouldn't happen. I was already excited for "Sorry for Now", but now I can't wait for it. I hope it's the next single.
Sounds promising!!! Excellent job Derek and fellow staff. Seems you've got Mike to open up more about the personality of this album. I'm more curious this album cycle than I ever have been. I still think Heavy is most likely the weakest song on this album. I also really love that Chester is opening up about addiction. Super personal album. Can't wait!
Those lyrics have me hyped! Interesting. Chester rapping has me hyped! And two full songs of Mike singing is really cool! I hope they sound like In Between! Also, thank you LPA for everything you do Choo Choo This this this. I have nto once mentioned Mike's comments. The shoe just doesn't fit right.
That song was boring imo. I really wished they would have opt out for No Roads Left. So much passion in Mike's voice!!
Good Goodbye is confirmed to be Deliveranze's favorite song. I hope Mike has one more song with rapping. Chester rapping? Interesting for sure, but I hope it's good and not a novelty thing. Also those lyrics on "Halfway Right" are awesome!!! Hyped for that song! This is gonna be what Living Things should've been imo.
I agree. In Between is nice, but it just doesn't get to me like his other performances. I love when Mike sings at the second half of Blackout, The Catalyst, and No Roads Left. A lot of other songs that he sings on he sings really low (which I still LOVE) but there is something special when he sings a little higher like on those three songs I mentioned. And based on the clip from Sorry for Now...it seems like we're getting that!
If anything, this reminds me of Blackout. Chester scream rapping while Mike had the intoxicating atmospheric melody to sing. I'm gonna assume for this song, Chester is more or less rapping very slowly.
We will have to agree to disagree. I don't like No Roads Left. I actually forgot it existed until I wrote that comment
So the songs where we don't know who is on it or what is going on are Nobody Can Save Me Talking To Myself Battle Symphony Sharp Edges Mike raps on Good Goobye, Mike sings the entire song of Invisible, Heavy (nuff said), Mike sings on Sorry For Now and Chester raps, Chester sings on Halfway Right and One More Light is gonna have Mike singing?
