I have listened to each contestant so far and each one sounds stunning. This has got to be the best month so far. Each person has brought something fresh to the table.
Thanks! It's actually Blackout with Robot Rock. Acid Rain is the title I gave the mix. "acid rain" was part of the original lyrics for Blackout back when it was called "Pacmanny". I thought it fit as a good title for the mashup.
This months entries are - once again - really great! I am thrilled to see who will be chosen as the winner... judges will have another hard time^^ I also had some ideas for mmu themes, well not actually themes but... What about a collaboration month? entries should be the work of two or more... this could end up being not only interesting to hear the results but could offer the less skilled (I consider myself one of them) a chance to learn from the pros... My second thought was to expand the contest time (two months?)... maybe combine this with the collaboration idea?
I wouldn't collab on a mashup. That's just me, though, I just don't see it working out for me. Original music and remixing? Sure. I'm actually considering that anyway, but I wouldn't do it for this stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of mixers here and on YouTube. I often message back and forth with UnforgettableSound, Lizzi Cloverman, and RCMixes, and I follow others, but I'm not sure if I could ever collaborate with them for a Linkin Park song. I think they all provide their own unique take and would only cause conflict. Again, maybe that's just me.
yeah you're right... I can't imagine doing a mashup as a collaboration because there isn't much that you can do together also I wasn't only talking about collabs with another "computer-musician" ^^ there are so many LP fans out there playing guitar or keys... maybe do something with them like the BID cover by Puresque & Hybrid -> https://soundcloud.com/tightrope-walk/burned-pure-1 btw because of their entry I thought about the collab-theme in the first place...
Ah I see. Yeah, performance covers I could get behind. Not really skilled with drums but I can play guitar and sing a bit.
From what I saw on your youtube-channel you are great on the guitar I'm just trying to imagine what it would sound like if you work with.. say m_macdonald who produces metal bands among others (as far as I know)
may mashup https://soundcloud.com/31-61s-n/lpassociation-com-monthly-mix this is my mash-up for the month of may
