I forget when I asked, but I believe I asked a while back before we did this competition and I got something along the lines of a "yeahhh not gonna happen".

Kinda true. For this month you can't really just record yourself singing acoustically or w/e. Kinda need some electronic instrument to control synths....

Does electro-house count? something like this for example.

That sounds good. I don't see any problem with you borrowing inspiration from that.

Derek may explain this better, but there's a difference between, like, dance-pop stuff you hear on the radio and house/trance rave stuff. The aim of this month's contest is to get synth-y dance-y entries, as opposed to Tiesto-ish club remixes. Am I explaining the difference well enough? We'll have an electronic/trance/house month in the future, but as for now we're looking for stuff more in the vein of the LMFAOs/La Rouxs of the world -- in other words mainstream dance-pop.

Yeah I gotcha. A little more Britney Spears-electro, not Deadmau5 electro. LMFAO toes the line though. They are pretty much cheesy electro with vocals lol. But fun, bright, pop. Less dirty gritty. No crazy long Tiesto trance jams or dirty Deadmau5 drops.

Mark said it right. We want stuff like Ellie Goulding's "Lights', La Roux's "Bulletproof" and LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem".

Pretty much, we're well aware that we're taking a chance at lesser entries by introducing a harder genre, but we feel it'll be worth it.

Ooooh Ellie Goulding gets me in the right place! Love that album. Even better!!! Awesome. I think that makes it a little easier for me. I was like *pulls up dirty synth #1* lol

Even get a little Telepopmusik with it

This is not my entry and it's not even my song but I would like to share this because I think this is the best dance remix out there. Someone can use that as an inspiration as well.
