im thinking we wont probably get an album until 2012, but i do kinda feel that we may get a song, like new divide or not alone. if we get individuals song like we have gotten before in past years, ill been just fine. as long as i get new LP music, no matter the style it is, ill be more than happy!

The way this sounds Im thinking new album in 2012. You have to take into consideration that dead by sunrise halted the thousands sun release too. So a new album in 2012 is not unlikely since the main focus is linkin park

After ATS, I can't even imagine what they'll throw at us next haha. Hopefully 2012... that would be awesome.

While initially this sounds too good to be true, this actually sounds plausible. They supposedly had a lot of great ideas left at the end of the ATS process that didn't cut it for the record. I can barely contain my excitement, especially after seeing them on Saturday in Vegas. I imagine they have more up their sleeve still and they are itching to enter the creative process again (or continue it, as they've supposedly been writing this whole world tour). But I mean they haven't even toured for this album very much. That's what's the most suspect, since their tour schedule usually includes at least 3 US tours per album haha.

When they were on "On the record with Fuse", Mike said that management was trying to get them to release EP's rather than just another album. I can't say I would be opposed to that this time around. At the very least they should release an independent single or two (not including an actual single from a future album) before the next album drops. We actually did get that with pre-ATS in New Divide and Blackbirds.

Broken EPs for the win. Lots and lots of them!

LP are a band that writes in the studio, let's keep in mind -- don't know how much writing they've done while on tour but I'd imagine most of that would get scrapped in favour of whatever they come up with after the tour. ;P

As long as they build on the amazing album that was ATS and continue with this alternative/electronic sound they've created, I'll be happy.

Well, I remember reading that Mike use to just bring little things to write with on tour but on this current tour they've been bringing much more equipment. Add to the fact that new Ztar thing that phoenix ordered and I can say that I'm confident that it's a sign of creative input which could definitely translate to a faster album release.

Also, I'm not against EP's at all! Do it like InnerPartySystem. Release a lot of EP's, (some with different edits of the same track[demos]) and then end the year or start the next year with a new album. That'd be dope.

Just listened to the interview now. It's good to hear Nine Inch Nails actually come from his mouth and not just through text.

Only one US tour for ATS? That's really fucked up. I'm all for a new album but I just find something wrong with this. I'm sure I'm in the minority on the subject . I feel for the people who missed out on this tour. It's a damn shame.

Minority or not, you couldn't have a more opposite view than me, haha. I think it's really fucked up that they're actually still going to play shows this summer.

I do feel terrible for the people who didn't get to see the ATS tour, and I'll agree with you here.

However part of me always had a feeling this was going to be a short term album. I just had this feeling ATS' followup was coming sooner than people expected...this news post all but proves that now.

Yeah it's sad for people that didn't get to see them. (Me) What's more sad is that we probably won't be seeing ATS live in it's entirety...

    BUT!

The sooner a new album faster they can stop playing all their old songs that have gone stale.

Mike: Linkin Park have booked studio time immediately after their final shows on the North American tour to begin writing the follow up to A Thousand Suns.
    Me: What the fuck?!!

I love these guys. Forget Asia tour, just drop the fifth album soon and in quality!! :D

If they release it in a reasonable amount of time, it would make up for the grinding four-year wait between Meteora and MtM. That all but killed me.

At first I was just clueless as to just how linkin park was going to top ATS. but now as I think about it more, I feel like ATS may have restricted them from releasing perhaps sone of their best songs due to the "storyline". As I think about it more, I'm having this urge to say that album 5 is going rock all the fans now that we are more used to this new sound.
