Idk if this has been brought up yet but..where did this extended clip come from exactly? I know the website for Buzz 103 Radio or whatever has it, but does that mean that all the radio stations have the track ready to go for next monday?

*plans on raiding local radio station HQ*

I agree but Im really thankful for Meteora. to me its the foundation of my new, better life. Without Breaking the Habit and From the inside I wouldnt be alive today.
Anyway be aware of what you say, youll never know WHO will read it..

I can say (now) that this song is influenced by many artists the band (or an individual) listens to. I would say this one is cleary Joe's song :D

The Prodigy is Drum n Bass, Daft Punk is electronica. Im talking about that mainstream techno.

It's such a long song though. I don't think all of this will ruin it. I bet i'll replay this 100 times in a row. when the whole ting comes out That's what i did with Not Alone thinking it would grow on me lol.
It appears that Mike saying NO! will be repeated a lot through out the song. Maybe a leak today? I say 40% chance.

    Oh I got it!

LP learned from their mistakes by just making the same as their previous album and they tried (successfully) to drift away with Minutes to Midnight...now they do exactly the same...drift away from rock ballads.

I don't understand how anyone can hate the 40-seconds that we've heard so far.

TLTGYA was such an epic and different piece from them that it gave me hope about the next album.

Even through Meteora is my least favourite album(Because it kinda sounded like HT part 2) I still think its an great album, no doubt about that.
It have some great songs on there, but it didn't bring somthing new to the table, exept some few(Breaking the Habit, Nobodys listening)

Minutes to midnight had all kind of colors too, from U2'ish Shadow of the Day, to the Punk Rock'ish Giving up, An awesome Rap war/peace athem song Hands Held High, and it even had some (Rare)good pop songs like Leave out all the rest. I love this album! Does it meen i want another MTM? NO, i want something new, cutting edge.

New divide was good, but nothing more than that. I hate when people say its there best song, because it is not. Its just another Movie hit, just with alittle more edge than usualy. So i hope the new album will be better than New divide

The Catalyst so far have some, Alternative Prog Dance Rock theme going on, and i didn't like it at first. BUT DO YOU KNOW WHAT, the songs that you dont like the first time you hear it, is usualy the one's that end up being you favourites... Im just saying it, so hopefully i wont like the album at first, and then it will grow on me, like all there other songs

songs like little things, and in pieces, plus the addition of rap verses is what expect from this album. I think they've all grown so much as musicians, that they can really put together an album with alot of layers. I think this album is going to have ALOT more replay value than m2m

Kinda funny how my perception of the clip changes with an extra 6 seconds. Still holding back my judgement for the better though. >_>

I mean I'm not making fun of LP, believe me. HT and Meteora hold special places in my heart, like they do for many fans. However, being with this band for almost 9 years...I've realized that not only had their music become incredibly formulaic, but that even fans could recreate their sound if they were musically inclined. That's not a good thing. The band needed a change.

TLTGYA also was a progressive song in itself if you think about it.

There was no chorus or even a breakdown in it.

Plus it sounded different from intro to outro.

Took it awhile to grow on me, but now I'm really digging it. My stand on this is: We can't judge a song from clips, that's a fact. But we also can't judge an entire album from one song.

    Techno, Trance and Eurodance

only could've become so prominent because they had the space for that....The 90ties were the time with no big war...The Ost-West-Conflict ended with the begin of the new decade...and Liberalism, Freedom and peace were spreading around....There was no enemy to fight with. Hence the pop-culture reacted to that fact...Sorrow-free music was produced en masse...

That changed a little bit with the problems with peace-missions in the mid 90s and in Kosovo 1999 and ultimatley with 9/11....which started a new wave of a more reflected, and political touch in popmusic. Also the eurodance-bubble of and endless party bursted.

Besides electronic rock artists like Prodigy or Daft Punk....there were/are very good Techno-artists...in the 90ties and still today.

    IMO: Zombie Disco Squad/Zombie Nation/Acid Girls/Luciano/Voodeux/Gosh
jsut to name a few ;)

PS: Soemtimes i even like listening to Headaway, Corona or Culture Beat ;)

I remember the day I bought Meteora. I was 12 years old, popped the CD into the stereo, and ended up listening to it for hours. It was the perfect music for me to hear at that time. Because of that very day, I have never had the same feeling about any album as the feeling I got when listening to Meteora. For that reason, it has stayed as my favorite album. Something about it will always be special to me.

However, now I'm 19 years old. And if they went back to the music they made when I was 12 and said "Hey look! We're back..." I would be incredibly disappointed.

The fact is, my tastes have changed. And I can only hope that A Thousand Suns gives me the same feeling that I got from Meteora 7 years ago. My appreciation for art of all kinds and fantastic lyrics need that.
