Critics were also praising Victimized. Just saying...

I don't count Artist Direct or the metal-head radio guy that said it was his favorite song.

Yeah, I think people are jumping the gun when they say this album is already being "praised by critics." Rick Florino and Noisecreep are hardly prestigious critics.

If BBC or the LA Times or NPR gives it some good press, then we can start saying that I think. Not that it really matters.

All that matters is that if we like it. Basically, as Eminem would say, "Screw the Critics"

LOST IN THE ECHO and LIES GREED MISERY are both confirmed to have screaming as well, I'm content with 3 songs with screaming on an album, there might even be more. This album is going to exceed all my expectations and kick ass.

yeah i excited, 3 songs confirmed to have screaming

i think around 5 songs so far confirmed to have rapping (and most likely will be more).

Screaming and rapping plus experimentation, I'm ready for this album!

EDIT: It has the experimentation of ATS, the screaming of MTM, said to have close to same amount of raping as Meteora, and has the same album structure as Hybrid Theory. LT really is using everything from their :toolbox:

Noisecreep also said it felt like an instant classic. But I won't force you to get excited about that song anyway.

Absolutely. Beyond very basic descriptions of the songs I wouldn't put any stock in what that particular bunch of people (hand picked by the label so you know they won't say anything negative) have to say about the quality. Especially Florino, guy sounds like a credulous nitwit.

The real reviews will start rolling out in a few weeks.

I just can't wait for the second track to be released (the one that's coming prior to the release of the album). It's going to be so good. Hopefully it's IN MY REMAINS.

still trying to wrap my head around how until it breaks ends up being a poignant ballad from that gangster rap...

That moment where you realize you are reading these descriptions over and over, trying to will the song into your brain.

    Impatient dude is impatient.

    Edit:

Some more notes from the MTV First interviews

(add these to the descriptions possibly?)

UNTIL IT BREAKS - Described by Chester/Mike as being very jarring and disjointed (but in a good way?). Various parts of this song were originally seeds from other demos and eventually all came together to create this song.

This is in line with some of the reviews focusing on the rap-heavy portion of the song while others spoke more on the ballad like chorus.

POWERLESS - Originally a 6 minute demo. Mike and Chester felt it was too repetitive to keep at that length and later narrowed it down. (Original demo name was TINFOIL - from the ATS era perhaps?) They decided that the build up to this song would be TINFOIL itself and POWERLESS would follow.

Chester and Mike said this was the hardest song on the album to write because it was difficult to marry the musical payoff and melody payoff.
