    @m_shinoda
    “@LPAssociation: Here's everything we know so far:http://bit.ly/Kh255r” I'd say 50%+ of these descriptions are misleading.

    Yeah, just proves that musical opinions are subjective and that perceptions of songs change from person to person. It's just like when Meteora apparently had elements of Pantera in it, and there was no Pantera at all. These articles are the opinions/reviews of a person who only heard the songs once and had to rely off of scribbled notes/memory of the tracks :lol:.

    This has always been the case with new Linkin Park impressions from third party media. From experience every Linkin Park fan should know to take any comments about a new album and its sound with a grain of salt.

    And sometimes the wrong descriptions come from the band members themselves :lol:. ("MTM to have a lot of screaming" being the legendary example lol).

    It did have a lot of screaming. Just all concentrated in 3 songs.

    From a individuals perspective, anything could be misleading. Everyone has different views on music, and you can't really trust any description of the new songs. Especially when they compare it to otyer artists. We just have to wait for the album.

    Granted is that we shouldn't rely 100% on the reviews there, but we shouldn't completely disregard them either.

    Now, since Mike said that about "50% of them were misleading" .. I wonder what tracks could he be referring to. I mean, some of them have more than one review and when you read them, they have many points in common and they sort of complement eachother, it would be easy to spot something suspicious if there was any sort of contradiction or wide difference between descriptions but they are fairly similar.

    However it's completely possible that there could be "misinterpretations" of the songs because each one of the journalists had only ONE opportunity to listen to the songs, and it's difficult to appreciate it fully or understand it by just hearing it that one time. Sometimes you need to listen to it again, or many repeated times to understand what's going on.

    And last but not least, we should take a look at what HitFix and Golden Mixtape wrote, because initially when the Spin article was published Mike retweeted it and he seemed happy with what was written there. I can't remember a similar positive vibe from him towards the latest two articles.

    So people think having more uplifting songs means doing Disney movies? I mean why do they have to be so depressing. A Thousand Suns was perfect lyric wise

    It was scary how similar he sounded to Chester from Hybrid Theory. I just about had a "HOLY SHIT LEGIT" moment...

    Although I REALLY like the instrumentation on the song. I wish LP would have followed through with this kinda stuff, but pushing the electronic boundaries at the same time. Then again, if Mike's tweet was anything worthwhile, Living Things could hypothetically sounds somewhat this (when hell freezes over).

    Probably any song description that cites other artists in it. That's a great way to put the wrong idea in someone's head.
