Linkin Park's partnership with the UFC for The Hunting Party album cycle brought a full length performance video of the band's single "Wastelands" to their official YouTube channel today. The video features the studio version of the song with footage of the band's recent performance at Rock in Rio 2014 in Lisbon, Portugal inter-spliced with UFC footage. Check out the video below. This isn't the first collaboration with Linkin Park and the UFC, back in May during UFC 173 the promotion aired a trailer for their UFC 174 event that featured our very first listen of "Wastelands". The band's single "Guilty All the Same" is also included on the latest EA UFC video game. We first got a look at this Wastelands collaboration during the UFC's Vlog YouTube series "Embedded", where UFC owner Dana White was reviewing the video. This isn't the official music video but simply a promotional collaboration between the two. However Linkin Park are also planning to partner with IAVA where they will "create a dynamic video that showcases compelling, user-generated videos and photos submitted by veterans, which will be set to Linkin Park’s “Wastelands.”" According to the website, "The video will be shown on the band’s upcoming US Carnivores Tour, to help inspire action and drive fans to support IAVA and the new generation of dedicated, young leaders". The band's next single will be Final Masquerade which is currently in production with director Mark Pellington. Source: Linkin Park
I like it. It's better than many LP music videos. EDIT: Is it me or this version sounds better than anyother?
This is the most boring and worst edited video by LP ever. IMO Until It's Gone is way better. I hope FM is better too.
This. It was probably made by the UFC people. Even my amateurs fan made videos are better than this one...
I watched it twice, the second time the video didn't work. Kind of an improvement somebody got paid to make this you guys I'm sure none of this is the band's fault.
Yeah it's pretty plain to see someone has just spliced already edited footage of the band performance with snippets of the UFC footage (most telling sign is around the 55 second mark where it cuts back to band footage of Chester for a split second before shifting to the next angle). Would have worked better if they had access to the original footage and carefully selected angles to cut back to so that it didn't seem so... 'Windows Movie Maker'ed.
The UFC should create and edit all LP videos from now on . So much emotion! Interstellar performance of the paradise bird dance that has never been done before by a human (original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7QZnwKqopo The actor in LPs video uses kicks instead of his tail which is a genius move if you ask me). The attention to detail is amazing. Garnished with crazy effects and camera angles from heaven this will most likely win an Oscar.
Pretty lazy and awkwardly edited. Seems like they cut costs used a random number generator to determine where to slice in the concert footage instead of hiring an editor. LP must of made this, UFC typically does a much better job picking highlights. Also, UFC please stop pushing flyweights. Weidman vs Machida promo vid with Mark the Graves next please
lame video, plus Godsmack did that UFC kind of video before LP for their song "Cryin Like A Bitch", and it's actually better than this one!
