The first ~1 minute sounds eerily similar to Duke Nukem track done by Megadeth. And no that's not an insult, get a listen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poyWs95UYCI
The ending is killer. Everyone's talking about Chester, Rakim, and the guitars but it's Rob Bourdon who's the standout here. He really is a good drummer and seems to be getting better.
I'd say it's aggressive more than it is heavy, definitely tops anything they've done before in terms of just raw 'in your face' power. Edit: LOL this is my 69th post
This song is f*cking nasty!! I understand what some are saying but maybe the aim for this song was the music itself and not so much the vocals. Either way it's a great song and it will grow on you just like any LP song that you ever been not sure about. Rakim's part was dope too especially the beat on his part! But Rob and Brad take the freakin belt on this song! They went beast mode!!
Production is so raw. I love it. Chester sounds a bit different, but I definitely prefer this kind of production over a lot of their other stuff.
Btw, I think Given Up is heavier than this. This track is just longer with more solely instrumental parts.
That's pretty sexy. I wish that Mike was rapping instead of Rakim, but hell it's fucking awesome either way. Can't wait for this album (I'm guessing a May/June release???)
