I'm expecting good lyrics. And maybe even hipster beards. Bout time Mike and Chester got with the times.
The last 3 years have made me so excited to see what comes next. THP reinvigorated my love for the band, Fort Minor in 2015, The Visionaries track which contains some of my favorite Mike verses, LPU15, Like Riding a Bike, Things in my Jeep and LPU16. It's been fun and I wasn't ready for a new LP album in 2016 since THP still is so fresh to me but now I am. The suspense for anything is insane.
I still don't know what to expect from this album, and that's why I've been anticipating this more than their past work. They haven't thrown around as many buzzwords (#VISCERAL) or talked about Disney music and the state of rock. They've only been focused entirely on the album over the last year and have been fairly secretive about it. This time I can't quite judge the album based upon how they hyped it up to be, I like that. I don't really have any expectations to keep in check here, I'm just going to listen to it and either I like it or I don't, simple.
I know it's likely 12 songs like usual but I really hope not. Didn't they take time to make more songs? I also hope we don't get any useless interludes.
I'd rather have a ATS tracklist structure than a 12 tracklist. i'd take 14 songs, hell even 11 songs if there was enough substance to the album
I don't know what to expect from this new album, as well as you I guess. A think that ATS was their best work and after safe album like LT I thought that LP are till there like sound evolution. But after THP, wich made such a big contrast in terms of sounding, I was really surprised. Now they have something new and they say it's nothing like the ones before. Like you guys said a bit earlier, they have bad expirience with givin hints what the album will sound like, so maybe this time around they might want to keep things a little bit more queit until release. It seem that I like something about the lack of sharing info. Last time with THP we had like five released songs before the whole album kicked in, wich for me was a little too much. I like all their records so the particular genre doesen't matter, all I hope for is a well written songs with strong lyrics.
I don't mean to complain but I hope it's not just rock-flavored electronic music with some poppy hooks. But I'll just be happy that we've got new music after like 3 years.
Totally agree here. If it is, I'll be disappointed but happy for the new music, yet definitely don't want another Living Things where 95% of the songs sound like something LP can cook up in their sleep.
I understand the worries as mentioned above but I don't think LP7 will boil down to said rock-flavored electronic music with some poppy hooks. Since they've released more albums there might be a bit less pressure and every time more artistic freedom. My feeling says LP will show a lot of balls with the choices on the new album.
