Gonna be completely honest, the clip they previewed was a complete let down. I don't want them going heavy for the sake of it. I don't want this album to sound forced. Minutes to Midnight and ATS were organic feeling and natural sounding. I like heavy music better, but those two are my favorite by far. Hopefully we hear some ingenuity, and variety. Still have high hopes from what Mike has said about it. Gonna brush off this preview for now.
Well, as what I've speculate also, that clip will be surely utilized for LPTV episodes... just like LP2K12 last 2012..
A fair opinion. But besides maybe Metora when have LP ever done things for the sake of it or because they had too. Speculation based on probably 15 seconds of actual Audio. They don't seem to me to be the kind of band that just does things for the sake of it, they always think it out and their music for a bit of a cliched term is much deeper than most records.
I was under the impression that Mike was unhappy with the current state of mainstream rock, so they were inspired to "do something about it" with this new record.
I think this is why a big tour with a big name will be announced. I think he wants everyone to join forces and have a big "Rock" family. He mentioned how in Hip Hop that all the artists appear on each others records because it's fun, but nobody does that in Rock because they are too shy or nervous to do it. I'd love to see LP appear more or other bands appear on their records. Imagine an album after LP6 that was 6 Tracks or more just of Collaborations with other bands!
A tour announcement would be awesome. I haven't seen them since 2011, so I'm REALLY wanting to see them again this year if they're close enough. Even more exciting is the prospect of a new single and what the titles we've seen mean. I think The Hunting Party as an album title is pretty badass... Guilty All The Same sounds gnarly...in a completely awesome way.
He made mention of a few things here then in his post. http://mikeshinoda.com/2013/09/09/in-response-to-rock-music-sucks-now-and-its-depressing/
Yes Mike mentioned it before.. I am holding up my judgment since we don't know what the new album sounds like... Maybe it will have an atmosphere of ATS or Rock Anthem of MTM or something diverse kind of Album...
There's no way this is a coincidence. I was skeptical about the whole "Thirty Seconds to Mars + Linkin Park" thing, but with that tweet, I believe that the two are planning something big together.
We have 15 seconds of music and people are already buying in and jumping off. Come on now. Don't be ignant.
Pretty much this. On a side note, I really hope they come to St. Louis. I haven't gotten to see LP live before and they haven't been to St. Louis since 2008.
I really hope they come to Portland Oregon because they haven't been here since 2003. I missed them because it was my wife and I first valentines day together and so regretted Not going! Luckily we drove 2 1/2 hours to Tacoma in September 2012 and got meet and greet Passes too! Best concert ever and it was amazing to meet them!
I really wanted to go to that show, but they came in September and I was going off to College and my college starts in August So Sad I didnt get to see them. That show and the MCR/Blink-182 show in WA are the two I regret not seeing and being able to go
It's a great time for Jared Leto! Comparing his band's logo to the tiny section on the splash page, the speculators are likely spot on. This music preview is also pretty intriguing; I hope I can count on some mind blowing new tracks. It's like Christmas when an album cycle begins :')
