Linkin Park have now finished up the Summer leg of their World Tour. The 17 date run through Europe and briefly the US consisted of festival dates, Projekt Revolution shows, Arena stops, Movie Premiere's and an intimate show in London to finish up the cycle.

Linkin Park began the tour in Irvine, CA on June 4th and ran for a whole month until July 4th, where they played their final show at the iTunes Festival in London, England. Out of a total 17 shows, Linkin Park played 09 unique setlists, with the majority being variants of one another where they would substitute songs for others, remove songs all together and in rare instances include a new track. Linkin Park had to cater to a lot of different audiences on this cycle and mixing up their sets gave them the freedom to gauge reactions to see what worked best.

Songs that we didn't get from A Thousand Suns on this tour included Wretches & Kings, The Messenger and Robot Boy. The Messenger only had one performance at the LPU Summit in Hamburg but never made a full setlist. Robot Boy however has never been played and remains the only track from A Thousand Suns to be performed live at all.

Highlights of this tour include the performance of Iridescent at Moscow, Russia which marks the first and only time the band performed the Transformers: Dark of the Moon edit of that song. This was also the only show where the band opened with a special intro into New Divide, where The Requiem opened every other date in the cycle. One Step Closer also got cut from this show, which would later be replicated in Arras, France & St. Gallen, Switzerland, meaning this track didn't get played at a total of three shows.

Burning In The Skies saw a return to the tour in Stockholm, Sweden, Blackout also returned to the set alongside Burning In The Skies at Leipzig, Germany for the first time since Canberra, Australia last year. This track was played a total of three times, all at Germany. Blackout also made the encore, which is a very rare occurrence and has only been seen once before in Detroit, Mi on January 25th, 2011.

One of the biggest surprises of the tour was when Linkin Park first performed an acoustic version of Rolling In The Deep, a cover of UK female artist Adele at their LPU Summit in Hamburg, Germany on June 19th. They would then later play the song as a piano version in a full set at their final show of the tour in London, England on July 4th, a "surprise" Mike Shinoda teased days before the performance.

It was an awesome tour that covered a lot of ground in Europe and definitely made for some great DSP's. Linkin Park will now take almost 2 months off from touring until they play a Music For Relief Benefit show in Los Angeles, CA on August 31st in an intimate, yet to be announced venue. This will be followed by the Asia Tour, where Linkin Park will play 11 dates beginning September 6th in Hong Kong and will run until September 25th where they'll finish up in Singapore. It's unknown what the band will do after this leg of the tour, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!

Thanks so much for keeping up with us on the Summer Tour information, and for your reference, you'll find a list of the unique sets the band played on this leg and where they played them by clicking the navigation link at the end of this article. For more details on the tour including transitions and individual Bleed It Out nuances etc, and to submit content for any show, as always you can check out the LPA Tour Page.

Let us know what you thought of the tour, which shows you attended and what your favorite set was! We'd love to know your thoughts on the LPA Forum!

I hope the band have a well deserved break (while working on new music of course :kappa:)

    Summer Tour highlights:
    - I enjoyed watching the stream of the London show today, great show!
    - The Russian fans made the Moscow show pretty special too with the signs and confetti.
    - I also liked the fact that Blackout AND Burning In The Skies were played at some shows, the more ATS tracks the better. :)

Pretty cool! I was really hoping for Robot Boy live though at the Festival. But still, the break now should see some good developments.

At the iTunes Festival when only Mike and Chester came out, and Mike went to the piano, I thought it would happen, then Chester said "we're going to do something we don't go very often." Dreams, crushed. LOL

Are you saying Wretches & Kings will be... forgotten? :kappa:

...okay, I admit that was bad.
