This is actually some pretty big and exciting news. Couldn't be happier for the guys who totally deserved this. This album will spin hot this summer. Especially when I will be traveling 8 hours by car just to see LP this summer. And with that said, I would like to thank every single one of you for this album session (esp. the mods). As always, see you next one.
I wish I still had a May 2003 issue of Guitar World that interviewed Brad promoting Meteora. The issue literally opened with the editor claiming how even though everyone thought of the band as pop making pussies, they worked really hard on their output and that was commendable. 2003. When they were still essentially brand new, people were saying this about them.
That's really impressive!! Especially the number of traditional albums sales. Congrats to the band!!! OML is a great record! Sidenote: I just love how OML rekindled my superfan side of LP. I was barely listen to LP anymore, except when my music was in shuffle but now... I can't remember the last time when I've been listening to so many LP music (OML and the older albums). That's the biggest achievement I could think for this album!!!
Massive congrats to the band, fully deserved for a fantastic album. Can't wait for July. hoping they play as many OML songs as possible.
Lol, People are actually reacting with crying emoji just because the album they hate is #1. Ridiculous.
Ultimate-Guitar have been doing my head in for the entirety of this album cycle! I'm so glad OML is No1 just to shove it in their face! Great site for tabs. Awful for everything else.
I'm so glad because of this, they totally deserved it and especially because of all those awful comments on social networks.
I've said this before and I'll say it again; You don't need to like an album to wish success to a band you like "So say goodbye and hit the road Pack it up and disappear You better have some place to go 'Cause you can't come back around here Good goodbye" I'm not a fan of this song but I think it works really well here.
http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop/7727739/2017-song-of-the-summer-poll-vote Heavy is actually doing great here. It at #3 right now. This album is a success.
THP and this pretty much proves the band can do whatever they want and still have a sizeable amount of dedicated fans on board with it. I'm not saying it'll work every time or that so many will stay with them should the band continue to drastically change their sound in such a polarizing way. However, it should at least give the band some reassurance to continue making what inspires them at any moment and know many of us are willing to give it a chance. At this point you have those that enjoy their nu-metal sound, those that enjoy their experimental/alternative sound, and now those that enjoy their pop-rock sound (though one can argue most of it is pop to a degree). So, while it's nice to have so many of us on board for all of it and more, how many others will still stick around if each release is controversial among fans? Doing what they do has come at the cost of another side consisting of a splintered fanbase. I feel like in order to really follow the band you have (to quote Mike) "expect the unexpected", and each time maybe it works for you or it doesn't, but it's how they operate.
In terms of selling they're doing great. More over, i thin that Heavy will surpass 100mln views on YouTube
Just wondering what would be the numbers if they didn't include CD with tickets to their shows. I mean there's still lots of people who will get a ticket just to see them performing old time hits.
Why do the same points KEEP being raised. It's already been said several times that people buying tickets to the shows had to REDEEM the album, which means if they got it it's because they wanted it..
