I like the new song lyrically. And the overall feel is very on brand for LP. I’m definitely curious about what’s in store. It’s gonna be interesting to hear how Mike’s rapping will congeal with Emily. The track list and cover are interesting too. It’s a little too surreal. The idea of a new LP album anytime soon was impossible to imagine 2 months ago, and now here we are with a cover, title, track list.

Just watched the show again...it was a great comeback!

    - Loved to see Mike, Dave and Joe so happy on stage. Sad about Rob though, wishing he the best.
    - Emily struggled a little bit with some songs but I think she will do better in the future. She seemed really nervous in the first half of the show but came back strong in the end. She fits well with Mike and the new song is amazing!
    - I agree with someone early saying about the 2000's Chester type of vocals. It was on my mind watching it live, it remind me a lot.
    - The Lost part was gorgeous, wish it was the hole song. Was expecting maybe FF to debut but Lost was a nice surprise.
    - The new stage/roof screen thing looks incredible. The 360° thing , not so much (it was weird everyone in one corner).
    - Mixed feelings about the new drummer. Some live changes I've liked, some I didn't, but in the record of EM he is great.
    - That's a lot of room for the band to grow live as the chemistry of the band is being bilt and the new members get more comfortable in front of the fans.

Today was a lot better than I expected, can't remember the last time I was so happy about something LP related.

I don't know about you guys, but The Emptiness Machine is already pulling me in. It's already under my skin, and I know exactly how it ends.

Not directed at anyone in particular, but folks suddenly becoming master critics picking apart Emily's mistakes act like Chester was flawless every single night or that the band sounded identical to the studio versions. And that's with him having been singing his own songs - Emily crushed TEM live.

For someone who has her own voice and wasn't trying to do a Chester imitation while keeping the same energy of the songs, she was such a badass surprise - and that's coming from someone who would've shit themselves to see Bobby Amaru up there. Looking back at his Tik Tok account now, though, he would have been doing a Chester impression, and I'm not about that.

Yep. I'd need to rewatch, but despite a few mistakes, on first impressions Emily's performance was still more consistent than almost any 2012-2017 Chester performance I've seen. And I don't mean that as any disrespect to Chester - people just need to be realistic about what to expect from live performances of such vocally demanding songs.

Positive - the LP brand is back and I can see why the band went with Emily Armstrong due to the vocal range she possesses, however people in here are going to get massively triggered by what I'm about to say but I really don't care.

Emily Armstrong is a Scientologist and openly supported Danny Masterson during his rape trial which is a big no no especially since as Chester was massively against child SA not forgetting all the abuse that he endured growing up. Yet Mike and the the rest of the band conveniently overlooked that and they literally dissed Chester and all that he stood for IMO and that's not cool.

They should've changed their name and started new not continuing with the LP brand like Blink-182 did.

Kudos to Rob Bourdon for distancing himself from the band, people grieve in different ways and I wish him the best in his endeavours.

Been down with LP from the beginning since 2000 but not liking the band's choice especially since she's a Scientologist and all the controversies that are associated with that dreadful cult; now would be a good time to jump off this ride.

It was fun while it lasted but as Chester famously once said "I cannot take this anymore."

    Adiós LP lite

That “I cannot take this anymore” reference was extremely cringe.

I’ve seen this pop up a bunch but do you have any supporting evidence that isn’t a Reddit post?

To think a band as image-conscious and squeaky clean as Linkin Park wouldn’t do their due diligence about a new member is an interesting position to take. Perhaps there’s more to this story than you know?

We are so back! Feels great that Mike and the boys wanted to get back into this. Reading the Billboard interview is so eye opening. They met Emily in 2019 and created some music then, too!

I was in the boat thinking that the guys had just gotten with a new singer just in the past 6 months to a year.

let’s fucking go, guys and gals!

Preordered the box set. I was honestly hoping for something really cool and exclusive in the set like an autograph card or something. Lots of bands are selling their cds and vinyls with autographs included. Like…The Muse, Coldplay, Foster the People, to name a few. I also may purchased the photo zine set for $40, as well. The booklet doesn’t come in the box set.

    So happy!!!!

    Aw shit…

At first, I just figured I’d do some research and hope to find nothing from any credible sources, but I have found tons of people talking about it on Reddit and Twitter…but not a lot of coverages on it. Then you realize…probably not a whole lot of stories about this because she wasn’t a high profile person to be covering. Now, she is.

I’ll brace myself for the next few days and see what all the news stations/online news sites say about this information.

    It’s definitely not a secret, anymore…

fuck… lol Hope Mike addresses this soon!

I wasn't going to reply, but against my better judgement, what the hell.

First of all, the only source of this information seems to be a Reddit post. Reddit is a cesspool inside of a dumpster fire, where the dumbest shit gets amplified and anything refuting it gets downvoted into oblivion. But let's assume the Reddit hivemind is correct, which is always a dangerous thing to do. The best proof Reddit has been able to muster up is the fact she was present at his arraignment to support him.

In the American legal system, an arraignment is the very first step in criminal proceedings. People are innocent until proven guilty, and at this stage, he had not yet been proven guilty. There wasn't even a trial at this stage. He's allowed to have his day in court, as are all of us. At the time, he was not guilty of the crimes he was accused of.

If she's still supporting him, after his guilt has been proven with overwhelming evidence, and he's been convicted and sentenced, like Mila and Ashton have, then that's a problem. But there does not appear to be any proof that's the case.

And let's just take Danny Masterson out of the equation for awhile, let's pretend he doesn't exist. I'm seeing a lot of comments on social media to the effect of "I won't listen because she's a Scientologist"...look, I'm not a fan of Scientology either. But imagine if the comments were "I won't listen because she's a Catholic" or "I won't listen because she's a Jew", are those okay? Let her have her religious beliefs, as wacky as they are to the rest of us. As long as these new songs aren't about Xenu and body thetans, I really don't give a shit what she believes.
