I agree, but I think it's intentional cause they're just having fun with it and isn't supposed to be taken seriously.
I can't wait for the inevitable One Step Closer/Two Faced mashups: "SHUT UP!" "STOP YELLING AT ME!" "SHUT UP!" "STOP YELLING AT ME!" "SHUT UP!" "STOP YELLING AT ME!" "SHUT UP WHEN I'M TALKING TO YOU!" "STOP YELLING AT MEEEEEEEEEEEE!"
I saw a side-by-side meme on reddit the other day with Chester and Emily with something similar. I thought it was clever.
LinkedIn Park Love that they're having so much fun. Love the energy from everybody, especially Emily! So many meme worthy moments in this video
Holy shit, what an absolute BANGER. The 'stop yelling at me' part with Emily going nuts in the video is so damn cool! Also, kinda random, but Phoenix looks kinda badass in the background
He does! I loved him! Also that black-on-black bass looks rad af. BTW: Just noticed this on Brad's headphones .. The glow up of these guys is INSANE.
First impressions is LP have never had a video with these vibes before. Their videos usually have a seriousness to them, so if not for anything else, the change is unexpected but welcome. The song itself? It is as nu metal as they could do, and that is not by accident. As someone said early, it feels very tongue in cheek. Catchy as he'll though after a few listens and will be a banger live and on drinks with friends.
Love it. This is their most badass video in a very long time. For a band that's constantly been seen as "serious/melodramatic", a goofy video like this is just GOLD.
Lyrics wise, I wanted to point: The first reversed verses are (kniht flesym raeh t'nac I) (I can't hear myself think) (kniht flesym raeh t'nac I) (I can't hear myself think) Get right! Also, Mike's flow here is almost the same as Wretches & Kings, like: Last time, I was hanging by a thread Trying to say I'm not, but I'm in it over my head That's when I figured out where it led The pen and the contract, the pitch and the contact
Here to say Wretched and Kings is the perfect evolution and modernization of their old sound, should have kept going in that direction
Right. I feel like this is deliberately supposed to sound as nu-metal as possible, down to the delivery and lyrical style. The fact it sounds like a Meteora demo is probably the exact point.
