Me looking at that Spotify counter for the release of From Zero: (have I said we're so back yet? Because we are SO BACK)
I am in love with the energy this song and video brings. It's so much fun and really shows the chaotic fun that they love to have. Anyone else going to cosplay this one at their next concert? Power suits and ties at a rock concert anyone?
Nah but Mike looking fresh af in that suit. Kinda gave me some Beastie Boys vibe (So Whatcha Want) with his hand movements too
The countdown in home page set to New Zealand is taunting me. Linkin Park sliding in my DMs with a new single and MV at 00.30 AM is also taunting me. I might not be strong enough.
My fu**ing god, is awesome! Thoughts follow: Now that I see Brad, I like him here, but I miss Alex.Let him join the band. So goofy and fun attitude, they reminded me to Beastie Boys. The tone of the song is really 00’s They look like a post wedding party, so cool seeing them in black suits. Also, they look like Men in Black. I was right, and here Mr. Hahn’s scratches are best heard through the mix than in my listenings. I’m loving them. They're happy, I'm happy. Also! The video is SO giffable, you can pick a lot of fun frames!!
I will add this song to my list of "songs ruined by Mike's cringe rapping" Otherwise the song is a banger.
We need to update these rules and add Emily now haha. Also, it's really weird...on the first listen of this song a few weeks ago (press stream) I was kind of "meh" towards it but it's now a song I feel is a total bop.
I like the song. But I cannot shake the feeling that it sounds like a demo, I feel like the song is not really as polished as some of the other songs released so far. Or maybe its the emotion that is not really coming through for me.
I like this song a lot! I discovered it when Emily took the stage 2 months ago. And... well, is the same person, this only proves she is not making any effort to be somebody else to fit, she's just... Emily, and we love her.
This song has grown on me a lot since first hearing it at the listening party, where I thought "A new version of one of my least favorite Linkin Park songs, Figure.09...?" The guitars particularly stand out for me tonally on this one: compared to The Emptiness Machine or Heavy Is the Crown they seem a lot warmer and grittier, which I personally like better than the more digital-sounding ones on the past singles. Another point to Two Faced, probably pushing Heavy Is the Crown to my least favorite on this album (though I don't overall dislike it!). Solid song, not gonna be one of my favorites from the album, but I can definitely bop to it. Glad the band seemed to have fun with it and like it enough to release it as a single. Really shows how much they've come around to their earlier material after the anniversaries!
