last time when that catalyst remix contest was out - I didn't knew a thing about remixing^^ but now I think I gonna try it...
Well, when they did The Catalyst contest, the song wasn't released. I'll try this out, I did aight last time
I wish they would've been a bit more thorough with the way they split the tracks up...two things are kind of bugging me: One is that the bass is mixed in with a bunch of the synth parts, and the other is that they didn't make Mike and Chester's vocals separate tracks. The vocal thing is really irksome, because the end of Mike's rap parts always overlaps with the beginning of the chorus, so you can't really split them apart unless you REALLY work some good "magic" on the vocal track.
Definitely some great possibilities for this one. Love the backing vocal tracks as well. Now if I could only get full split tracks for Powerless. Well, time to fire Pro Tools up.
and there was that pciture of Tech N9ne doing a verse for LP so that's most likely one of the 4 as well which leaves one left "they had charged Indaba members with remixing their #1 single "The Catalyst" from their chart topping 2012 album A Thousand Suns." so the date is messed up.
[DEAD LINK] I've done it! It's an edit of my LPA MMU August entry. EDIT: I added in a sample, meaning different link time! http://www.indabamusic.com/opportun...-in-the-echo-remix-contest/submissions/132488
I pretty much just registered to say that I listened to some of the entries so far and yours is by far the best. I think LITE is a cool electronic song that doesn't really need to be remixed. But if it is going to be, then it has to be reimagined in the right way and you pulled if off. Is there a way I can download it? ...The winner of the LPA remix did a great job too.
Never mind, I got some working ones. Hmm... I've already made a remix. But it samples other Linkin Park tracks. Would I have to remove the sampled tracks I wonder?
I believe so. The contest states that you can only use the supplied assets and original assets. Other Linkin Park tracks are likely off-limits.

The fact that the chorus melody is the same as the verse melody is off-putting. The verse riff is sick, the best I've heard so far, you should create a new chorus riff.
