Am I the only one who considers this one of the band's best mv? I mean, their videos are typically: A)The band playing with CGI in the background B)Riots and devastated cities C)Both A and B combined This actually tells a story and it's very relatable. Yes, the Mercedes placement is pretty bad it does last like 1 second anyway, so whatever. With a little more time, this would be their best video period IMHO.
I said it doesn't fit the vibe because it's a very "flashy" shot in an otherwise very sober looking video, no matter the length of it.
Forgive me, I'm just gonna shred on this quote guitar real quick. I agree. I really liked this a lot. Wait, you liked it, but it was boring? My thoughts exactly. This isn't the first time that's happened - think of how many videos where none of them are in it. It's purely about the cinematography in accordance with the song, with or without the band members. Not necessary. Who doesn't love using the same effects studio for like 10 videos and not having substance in the video? I sincerely, sincerely, loved the Mercedes shot. That may have been the video's best moment - it's a shame how early it came. I think a lot of people who hate the song will hate the video, sadly. You're entitled to your opinion, but no need to tell people to "get over" their opinions. It's not hard to express opinions kindly - that goes to both of you. I still think the Mercedes shot was the best part of the video. Now, why didn't they show the Mercedes fighting itself? Video wasn't heavy enough, I think. You're not helping! A needed post. We've known for a long time that the band just doesn't make great music videos on the whole, so I'm not sure why people are outraged. It's as if people have opinions with a lot of conviction - how odd. Well, my concern is that there was no fixation on how the Mercedes was actually feeling. A fair point, actually. Thank you. We can all be a little more civil with how we convey our opinions. By the way, I loved the Mercedes shot in this video.
The video is great, I love the photography and the acting. The twins thing reminded me of Red's Death of me video, and it was very symbolic and relatable with all the things Chester said in those interviews about his thoughts.
Wouldn't be a bad video if there wasn't shameless product placement in the form of the Mercedes. Considering this band efforts with music for relief, I think showing off the flashy merc is a bullshit move.
I think this music video is very deep. There are a lot of small things that makes you thinking. I mean e.g. the car - that everyone have this problems, the fight between chester and the other guy at the group meeting - that you struggle with "little" things, the two sides very person have and the end what is really important, as mike already said in the kerrang interview, that when bad things happen you have to remind yourself that you have people around you who care. I think this mv is perfect for this song. It really give me goosebumps...
I love you. You and your predecessors, the awesome SLS AMG and the SLR that might be part of your lineage as well. Which is why you need to be somewhere else. Like on a (race)track or sth
Hm, I'm surprised to see this many positive reactions actually. For me, it's pretty lackluster. I appreciate what they were going for, but for me it didn't work. I do like how emotional it tries to be, to dry to bring a new weight to the lyrics. But in my head the song is a little more colorful and energetic, so I would have liked to see that reflected a little bit more. Additionally, it kind of felt a little rushed and that there was too much packed in. I get Chester is fighting himself, and he went to the meeting, but Kiiara just feels kind of shoe-horned in. I think I would have liked it better if they used a non-band member actor (even though Chester is great), so that they weren't forced to include both Kiiara and Chester, and could have focused more on one person. The fighting between Chester and himself is pretty cool though. Nothing will beat BITS and WFTE as their best videos imo. I love their effects-heavy stuff, it's what belongs with that ATS sound and, imo, would've worked out for Heavy as well. I love the album cover, but as far as the music/lyric videos for this song, I'm not really digging the art. Hopefully we get more variety for the album later on.
