Heavy is already the 5th most played song at Radio Disney as of the time of this post: http://radio.disney.com/top-songs
Why is Radio Disney playing a song with bad words in it though? I know Akon's Lonely has a Radio Disney specific edit. I always find that funny to me. Radio Disney I don't think bleeps out words but edits words completely so I wonder if that's the case hear.
Okay. So I was on quite a long car trip today and Heavy was played on the radio twice. Nothing peculiar, if it weren't for the fact that they played a Chainsmokers song immeadiately after. And tbh both sounded the same to me :/
As I mentioned. Its my opinion and I am sure if I didn't know anythign about LP (meaning their name, this song or chesters voice in the first place I would've thought its the same band.
If it was a 110 BPM floor-to-the-floor thing, then, I would understand if you mistook it for a Chainsmokers song But I think "Sorry For Now" will be something like that, actually
BTw this just in. On facebook LPU announced that they have an LPU-exclusive video on Mike recording(!) vocals for Heavy.
We've just been flooded with LPU content this year ... EDIT: Emily Wright still thinking to herself "i've made some bad career decisions ..."
What about Heavy climbing the charts? Any news? I miss the threads about charts we get every single release
I think Heavy actually had some impact, but OML, SFN, NCSM, TTM and SE could have had more, as all of them are better than Heavy. GG, Invisible and BS were also released as lyric videos, but the ones mentioned before would have had a bigger impact. Having a trendy pop singer doesn´t mean the song is gonna be good (on that I aggree with the girl from the react video), although it can help, but I think Kiiara just outshines Chester on this one. I understand the choice of Heavy for a single as it is straightforward pop with a catchy chorus that can reach most of the people that like music that´s easier to make and a broader audience, but it kinda fails to do it as most of the songs nowadays have millions and millions, even billions of views, so their aim for the big money didn´t work so much as heavy only made 40 million views so far, but they still did a very solid record, to which I was a bit sceptical at first when Heavy came out, but the other songs did well to compensate Heavy´s low quality.
This song actually grew on me a lot as time has gone on. I actually think it sounds much different than the rest of the album, and I appreciate that. Not my favorite song on the album by any means, but I like it MUCH more than I did when I first heard it.
Yes, it is certainly a grower, but i just think the duet should have had much more balance between Chester and Kiiara. If they did that, the song would be a solid 8 out of 10, I feel she really takes control of the song.
Reading the disappointment in these old comments really got to me I don't know why Mike decided to send the band in this direction.
