Mike said he hated that indie pop is getting played on rock stations instead of actual rock music, not that he hates pop of any sort. Heavy doesn't sound like indie pop, it sounds like a pop song over a minimal trap beat and with some soft rock thrown in.
I think the line between pop and indie pop is pretty blurred now, to be honest. And, to be devil's advocate, "Heavy" is getting airplay on rock stations either way
It definitely did. Should have release more (and longer) Studio footage as LPTVs so the fans have something to see while waiting 2 months. Just like THP there are footage from them recording and talking about the album, but only snippets exists and no "making of" to speak off. Didn't they learn from last time?
Heavy is now #21 at Pop radio. This is their highest charting single there since WFTE peaked at 21, as well: http://headlineplanet.com/home/2017...ig-seans-bounce-back-reach-pop-radios-top-25/ Heavy is also up to #28 on Hot Adult Contemporary radio: http://headlineplanet.com/home/2017...ig-seans-bounce-back-reach-pop-radios-top-25/
Some more writers popped up: Jon Green for "Nobody can Save Me" Justin parker for "Invisible" Matthew Tyler Musto and Andrew Goldstein for "Sorry for now" Francis Anthony White for "One More Light" are these rumors or have they been confirmed (through itnerviews etc)
All of those people have been confirmed to have worked with the band on material for the album. Blackbear and Andrew Goldstein are known to have contributed to "Sorry For Now", that's the only one we're sure of. Beyond that and "Heavy", we don't know who is on what songs. Eg White is the collaborator written next to "One More Light" in that list
It needs the music video to come out. That's when it'll go up again. But I'm expecting it to decline immensely on the hot 100. The problem is the song has no staying power unlike WFTE or even burn it down.
my guess is that the people that like it are mostly those that listen to that type of music in the first place, rather than Linkin Park fans. Sure some LP fans DO like it, but I guess (in comparision to other songs) more pop fans will like this one. And since I know (from knowing a few) they jsut download it from youtube onto there phone, its not really a bestseller in that sense.
Here: Nobody Can Save Me - J.Green Invisible - MS w Justin Parker Eg White was confirmed by Mike in one of the radio interviews he did. Matthew Tyler Musto (aka Blackbear) and Andrew Goldstein are not 100% confirmed as co-writers in Sorry for Now. but they were in ths studio with LP.
I'm personally very excited for the Jon Green collaboration. If it even sounds 30% lyrically like this track: https://soundcloud.com/thebonfires/catapult-jg (which is Jon Green) then we're in for an absolute treat.
According to a LP facebook post the Heavy video will be out on March 9th https://www.facebook.com/linkinpark/posts/10154980435436788:0
Heavy is now officially added to radio Disney, sorry Mike: http://headlineplanet.com/home/2017...iara-snakehips-mo-singles-added-radio-disney/
