I like the intro a lot. For some reason, the offbeat vocals work in this instance. What I like ever more is that he was ranked 1418th. That is awesome and shuts up a lot of the people ranked really high who were all talking crap and stuff on the indaba site. Now I don't know if this was the best track, creatively, but it is one of the best tracks I have heard from a mixing and mastering standpoint. The levels are all really good and everything blends nicely. Thank you, LP, for this awesome contest.

Edit: Nvm. The people on Indaba are quite bitter. I think all of them seriously think that their remix was the best and that they deserved to win. Kind of funny actually.

It's just ok, but tbh most of these remixes all sounded the same to me so I can't in good conscience say this is any better or worse than the hundreds of others I heard.

Really cool for the guy though.

First of all, I did defend myself. I told everyone why I thought it sounded bad (namely, the out of place vocals). Second of all, I had nothing but good things to say about the cover. I was one of the few who loved it and still do. Third of all, musicians need to expect some people to not like their stuff and be open about it. If they can't handle it, they're gonna have a fucking hard time being a successful musician.

Maybe if you'd actually read all of my posts you'd realize I'm actually a positive person, but I'm just very picky when it comes to music. I called you out once and ever since then you've practically created a vendetta against me. In fact, maybe you should read the very first sentence that I wrote in this thread. I'm not negative, I'm just honest about what I think about these things.

Well, that's up to people's opinion, but I do know that my mix was featured on the site and got lots of positive feedback. And anyways, the whole "let's see you make something better" argument is absurd to begin with.

I'll say that it's a good remix and I'm sure it will 'fit the album' more than any other, but as a remix on its own, i don't rate it high at all. The vocals just seem to sit uncomfortably in the mix.

I know i might get shot down after suggesting this but, do you think LP have purposely chosen something that sounds a little off so that it will sound like just a fan remake, and not be better than the original...?

Congrats NoBrain! But personally, I didn't say "Wow" when I heard this. It's above average, but I think there may have been better ones out there.

I completely agree with you, I instantly noticed that on a lot of the remixes and it drived me nuts! It doesn't sound right at all...

You guys do know he is going to be able to improve on the track to make it album ready right? Hence him flying out to LA so he can be put to work.

Yeah, I just remembered that actually. I'm sure they'll improve on it in the studio.

    Congrats!!!

That was a pretty cool remix. For some odd reason it kina reminded me of some of the snippets we heard on the lp.com site when you tweeted #AThousandSuns for the album cover. Probably just me though.

I really like it! I wish he had seen our LPA Spotlight series. Definitely would have been featured.

Really excited to see how it sounds once the band has their input on it! Maybe even with new lyrics!

Not bad. There were bound to be people who said, "this isn't the best one, WTF were they thinking?!" no matter what remix was chosen.

I have a feeling this will fit in well with the style of the album -- by that I mean the experimental, somewhat industrial nature (assuming what we've heard is spot-on) as well as the artwork that's been released.

I like it. I didn't go WOW, but the fact that he worked with the stems pretty damn creatively has to be the reason why he won...that and luck...ALOTTTAAA luck!
