I think it's a joke about wanting to release a third song since they're releasing a song we've all heard
It's obvious someone wanted to give Adam a hard time. There's a mole in Linkin Park. You need to see da troooottthhhh and wake up you sheepleeeee ▲▲▲▲
Ey! Mike sounds fucking dope there. I think he would sounds better on the verses, or at least one verse could sung by Chester & the 2nd by Mike. The final version sounds too polished imo, radio material and nothing special. even though it has grown on me a lot since the first listen.
Yeah both songs have a good amount of layers but are mixed down a lot. I like the guitar picking in 2nd chorus of Heavy and the bridge/last chorus of BS, but it's so quiet
Curious if those who pre-ordered last month will get a digital download of the song tomorrow like we did with Heavy. ***dont judge me, not trying to be a cheapskate, just genuinely curious *** One a side note, I like this tune much better than I do Heavy.
I just bought my ticket do see them on May 13rd There's still time until midnight, can't wait to listen to the song on Spotify
As much as I like Mike's singing, and think it's only gotten better with time... this clip they posted (the one featured in this thread's header) shows me that it was a good idea to have Chester sing the whole of Battle Symphony. The pitch and note changes didn't suit Mike as well.
After reading all the comments about the song on the forum, I finally got a chance to listen to it. Because the (perceived) majority of bad comments, I expected the most boring, ordinary pop song. That's why I was extremely surprised when I listened to the song. Actually, I really like it. Is it the most innovative song that linking Park ever wrote? Definitely not. Is this a game changer? Not at all. But is it fun (at least on the first day of listening - in repeat, admittedly)? Hell yes. Maybe it's hard for all of us (me included) to expect one more game-changing ATS from linking Park with every song being a great innovation, we may need to accept that this will probably never happen again. Maybe we should just try to enjoy what linking Park has to offer for us nowadays. And I think it's definitely enjoyable.
I kinda have to disagree with the thought that Mike should have sang the song instead of Chester. While Mike doesn't sound bad, he definitely seems to struggle a bit with the higher notes and his transitions between them don't sound that great. Imo, Chester's vocals fit much better and he was able to deliver them fantastically on the final product. Plus, this song might have ended up as a song we wouldn't hear much being played live with Mike singing it.
This is a clip from last year, It shows Mike, Brad & Jon Green discussing about a song. It could be possible that this is "Battle Symphony" ? or maybe another song? https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153891857781788
I have come to the conclusion that the one-two punch of Heavy and Battle Symphony is better than the one-two punch of Burn It Down and Lies Greed Misery was. I have a feeling I will end up enjoying this album more than Living Things and, at this point, that is as far as my hopes and expectations will get me. In terms of what the band advertised OML as - I have already dismissed those promises. The lyrics on the two tracks are certainly emotional and personal but not in the specific, groundbreaking or original sense that the band promised. I am sure we will get a handful of standout tracks on the album, but I have a feeling there will be more of these generic/universal kind of lyrics than not - which is honestly a bit dissapointing, since they sometimes hinder me in liking the song as much as I want to.
