You'd think her fans would notice that as she moved the mic back and forth from her face, that the volume of the voice didn't change. At one point, she moves it up by her forehead as she dances, doesn't move her mouth, and she's still 'singing'.

I wish Eminem would get caught lip-synching.

He was clearly doing it at one of the past MTV Movie/Music Awards, when he did White America.

And I was watching the 2004 Europe Music Awards, and when he did Just Lose It & Like Toy Soldiers, you could tell he was, since he'd put the mic into the crowd or something, and you could hear his voice still, CD quality and everything.

It's bullshit. Only the chicks get caught? What the fuck? Eminem has done it on several occasions, does he get away with it because he's popular? Or is it because he's a rapper?

For some reason rappers are allowed to rap over their recordings when performing live... I don't get it, though...

Probably because to entertain the audience, they have to run around the stage waving their hands, and slapping hands and shit. It gets them out of breath of something.

I could see why someone like Britney Spears would lip-synch, seeing as how she dances and whatnot, and her vocals are bound to be horrible since she's shaking her ass and whatnot all over the stage.

Lindsay & Ashlee's aren't the same as Rappers or Spears' case, but it might as well be. If one group of artists can lip-synch, it's not fair that another group can't do the same, simply because they aren't bouncing all over the stage.

Well...I guess it's just that we haven't been complaining about rappers. Rappers and any other musicians suck for lipsyncing.

Probably because if you accuse a rapper of lip syncing... they'll like, leave a bullet in your head three minutes later...

The fact is, Eminem doesn't even try to sing/rap along anymore. I mean it was pathetic on 'The Shady National Convention', you could see his lips weren't moving and there was absolutely no adlibbing in his rapping to give proof that maybe he wasn't lipsynching. This is a live performance, not his choke scene in 8 Mile. I remember he used to actually rap over his backing vocals, even though it wasn't a true performance because he wasn't saying every line.

Now we got Lindsay Lohan, someone who doesnt even have that great of a voice and she's going to lipsynch after publically bashing Ashlee Simpson for it. Britney does not lipsynch live as anyone who saw her Live In Miami special will know she was fucking horrible. The singing was so gutwrenchingly bad and out of tune, that not even her shaking ass was enough to keep my dad watching it. It was pathetic. Christina doesnt lipsynch either as she sounds out of breath sometimes when singing.

Ever since Milli Vanilli, that type of shit has been frowned upon. So when two artists dont even try to lipsynch that well and get caught for it, it all seems pretty lame.

And by the way, Lindsay's titties are real. She said so herself as she was only 16 when her boobies got that big, and most kids really dont get breast augmentation at 16. ;)

Well, I'm kind of surprised to hear that Lindsay lip synches. I actually thought she'd be one to sing. Rumors does sound like a hard song to sing (and preform) though. It sounds a lot different from her other songs on her album, so I can see why she needs a little extra help on the song. Hopefully she won't stick to her lip synching ways and start to actually sing.

And come to think, so many people hate Avril Lavigne for no reason--calling he a poser and what not. At least she sings--unlike the other pop chics who can't sing for $hit.

I have no respect for people who lip synch, unless they have a VERY good reason...

Rappers using the CD is the same as bringing out no-name sidekicks to do backup vocals. It's acceptable for them so that it's like, I dunno, twice as projected? I'm not sure if that makes sense -- like, they wanna get the crowd more into it by having more vocals. I don't think rappers lip-synch...they rap over their own CDs. That's fine.

Remember, rapping is one thing. It's another to just move your lips without using your voicebox and letting the CD do all the work. That's fake right there. You know, I actually don't see a problem if singers sang over their own songs as long as the CD vocals were turned down low or they sang really louder than the CD itself. It helps them keep their place I suppose. But I mean, nobody wants to pay money to hear a CD on loud speakers.

Exactly. I don't think it'd be so much the fact if it were free, but I highly doubt fans want to go to a liveshow and hear the same exact thing they hear on the CD, just blasted with the person there motioning with their lips. Maybe if it was like, not hyped and free, then it wouldn't matter much.

But yeah, the thing with rapping over recording, I don't care if it's done off of CD stuff, but it definately defeats the purpose of "performing" if all you're doing is moving along with it...

Well...if it were free, I don't think anyone would want to waste their time to see someone move their lips with no voicebox work. :p

And good point about the rapper with a CD thing.
