My first reaction on Twitter was: "Holy f***ing mother of God!". I was really blown away by the song.
But that's how music works. Some of it, you play from the beginning and you dredge for your flow. Some of it, you have to give a chance to grow within you. And some of it will make your ears bleed. IMO. :X
After giving it a good number of spins I can honestly say that this song sounds like a demo/throwaway from the early stages of ATS.
I don't think that. doesn't sound like ATS besides reminiscent to WaK. It sounds like WaK, reanimation, and HT all combined. I personal like this song more than any song on ATS. I'm in love with this song!
Ok, had it on repeat today while doing some walking, and I def like Chester's part; and Mike's is good too. I say it's a good song for sure. Was kind of Meh on it at the beginning.
I feel insulted that you would put "reanimation" as part of this song. I'll agree up to WaK, but Reanimation?
ATS was a moody introspective record and that was great but it didn't have any of the energy of the earlier albums aside from arguably Blackout so that's what excites me about this song. It's got the great electronic touches of ATS with that same energy.
I thought it had more energy than just Blackout. I thought that Wretches And Kings was loud and in your face, and The Catalyst kept getting more and more energetic before cooling off with an epic fadeout.
Haters can hate all they want but after blasting this song on repeat in my car all day long I can safely say this is the funnest Linkin Park song they've made since Bleed It Out. The positive energy just radiates from the music! This is definitely my "summer tune" for 2012 unless Living Things drops something more enjoyable upon release. With each listen the song is slowly making an impression on my all-time favourites list and I'm enjoying every second if it.
I've already played it 103 times on Itunes. Its in my top 3 LP songs already. It's my 16th most played song in itunes, soon will be in top 10 for sure (top 5 would take a while tho). I'm loving it, and LT will be AMAZING
I'm on a LGM high. I have litteraly been blasting the song the whole day. Its duration makes me want more of it so I replay it, it's vicious but it works. And I'm not even bored of it, it seems to get better every time. Burn It Down didn't have that impact on me, I think LGM will end up being one of my favorite of this record
I've listened to it 253 times already. Playing FPSs while listening to it makes me go on fucking rampages.
I like this song. The chorus is so damn catchy! I LOVE the instrumental and Mike's first verse in particular.
