I love remixes. This is the IMHO worst remix of a Linkin Park song I've ever heard. I don't have much hope for Recharged anymore. I dig some of the remixes we already know, but tracks like this are making me think twice about ordering the album. I wanted it to be perfect like Reanimation.
I'm not a big fan of remixes that only use a small portion of lyrics in a song. It makes me feel like it is unfinished.
It's true. Dirtyphonics nor any of the producers on Recharged (except for Mike) had anything to do with Reanimation.
Umm... I don't hate this song, not at all, but it's not really my type. I think it gets better from ~2:35 onwards but... Well, it's just not the type of song I had hoped to hear. Nothing wrong with it but I think I'd rather listen to the original version of LGM. My hopes are still high. And this song will probably grow on me. ^ I agree. I kind of like the instrumental parts.
Because this isn't dubstep Anyways, I like the sound of the remix and all, but yeah, remove the vocals and I wouldn't be able to tell it's a LGM remix. It was already obvious that we wouldn't get that kind of remixes on Recharged, though, so eh.
The rest of the songs can't be this bad. I just don't see why they have all the special edition stuff out for Recharged an it's this bad. A lot of us were expecting another Reanimation but damn.
Yeah.. From what we already have, there's no way in hell "Recharged" will even come close to "Reliving Things".
While this is no Reanimation-level remix, I do quite like it. Probably because I barely listen to this sort of music so it doesn't feel as rehashed or repetitive to me as it would to those who do. I like the bassline, there's something slightly dark about it. I'll probably never listen to this more than twice though.
I think a BIG distinction needs to be made by the fanbase: 1) Reanimation was done with more traditional rock artists and rappers. Aaron Lewis (Staind), Jon Davis (Korn), Jay Gordon (Orgy) to name a few on the rock side. Black Thought (The Roots), Chali 2na (Jurassic 5) and Moch (Organized Konfusion) to name a few on the rap. These artists make SONGS. For radio play. Verses. Choruses. Fans sing/rap along. Reanimation also had heavy LP involvement. 2) Now Recharged is a different beasts. These are DJ/EDM producers. Why is that different? Most of these artists don't make radio songs. These are not the Swedish House Mafia and Zedds of the EDM world. These artists make songs with drops that the crowd can bang too. They don't care if there's lyrics to sing along to. They want something that works in their set that isn't too different from what they normally make. Most of these types of artists probably have a trillion tracks ready to go they can use for a remix with some tweaking. That's not necessarily bad but it lends to remixes that most people may not like outside of a party. Artists like Sound Remedy make AMAZING electro & dubstep songs while keeping the original songs very largely intact, these just aren't those type of guys. Put them all together and you get a very random sounding album. In any case, I like this remix because of those differences. I could take this track and actually throw it down in an DnB set whereas though Reanimation is amazing, it's just not for that type of thing. Note: Most of the remixes have been ass though haha. I just get why they sound like that. This is not supposed to be the same format as Reanimation. This song would BANG 3/4 into a set.
