UKF have exclusively shared an official remix of "LIES GREED MISERY" through their YouTube channel! The track is an intense drum & bass/drumstep reworking by French bass producers Dirtyphonics and will appear on Linkin Park's upcoming remix album "Recharged", which is set for release on October 29. This doesn't exactly give me any hope for Recharged whatsoever. At least the remixes from Reanimation were reminiscent of the tracks that they came from. This song sounds like they pasted an acapella of Lies Greed Misery over a d'n'b track and called it a day.
That's like...the exact opposite of what I said. This actually has a lot of samples from the original instrumental in it, unlike most of the remixes from Living Things: Remixed/the Recharged remixes we've heard so far, and the vocals are actually shifted around/manipulated a ton, rather than just being a straight copy-paste of the acapella. Were you listening to the same song I was?
Most of the Recharged songs that are floating out there sound horrible. When I heard Mike reference "a new remix album" and namedrop Reanimation I was ecstatic, but everything I've heard so far as been completely garbage. Like, I can't believe these were the same guys that made Reanimation at all, that's how bad they've been with them lately.
This song was already on Youtube for about a month... Anyway, I really want them to move on to the next studio album. I'm tired of listening to A LIGHT THAT NEVER COMES and I'm not that excited for RECHARGED.
The bass is ridiculous but overall it's a very weak remix for a very weak song. Hell, it might even have been better if the song didn't have the LP vocals in it.
Pretty sick! That is, until you realize that the track isn't going to shift in a different direction at all.
Reanimation was always suspicious to me... It was basically done while they were on a road, and is by far the best and the most complex thing that that they've done and they haven't got even close to it ever since...
I will listen to the songs when Recharged is out. Anyway.. I think it was so very wrong to name Reanimation anywhere near this release.. I will say this again.. This in no way will resemble that 2002 remix album because I believe the majority of the tracks were sent to them as opposed of working together with Linkin Park. Mike said before that he didn't see likely making another Reanimation because it was too much of a pain in the ass getting people together, so he didn't have time for that now. This to me technically isn't Linkin Park, so I think it's wrong to pin the lack of creativity on the band, those remixes were made by other people and if shit needs to be thrown at someone, it should be them, not LP. I do think though the band could've done a better job on choosing the material for this compilation, but that's just about it.
Same here. I like what I've read about this Dirtyphonics rmx but I haven't actually listened to it yet
