Yes I listen to Lady Gaga and have Bad Romance stuck in my head at the moment. I do like her film clips, very abstract in my opinion and very creative. Does anyone else listen to her?
I'm guilty for listening to her. She's got some good pop songs and I always listen to "The Fame Monster" album. Even though I love her music, I cannot stand all the hype around her. I think she tries way too hard with her image. There are plenty of female artists that have done the whole edgy thing before her so it's really nothing new and all that exciting.
In my opinion, she is the same as every pop artist out there, just with a more edgy image consultant attached to her. Her music is bland, uninteresting and doesn't offer anything that hasn't been done before. I really dislike her popularity and hope it goes away soon.
Love her or hate her, I think we can all agree Lady Gaga is nowhere near as annoying as Ke$ha. I guess that doesn't say much, though.
Gaga can be an inspiration to some. Frankly, she's not my cup of tea, and most of her singles are annoying to say the least. Kesha tho...she is pure garbage imo. Bad influence on younger girls/women, and rancid lyrics.
Nope. Way overrated. Except Paparazzi. Sweet song. She got lucky when they decided to market her the way they have.
Yeah, I definitely think she tries too hard to be shocking and in your face. Take the song "Christmas Tree" for example. Uhm, ew? Although, when I'm on long car rides, her songs do pump me up a bit. But really any pop music can do that when you're excruciatingly bored.
I don't mind her. I think her songs are a little over-rated but that's pop music for you. A semi-interesting/pointless piece of information is that her debut album was recorded at The Plant Studios which, when I was living in Sausalito CA up until last Sunday, was literally down the street from my house.
Don't you hate it when you show up to a party and you're wearing the same dress as lady gaga? @ Facebook group.
She makes well structured, catchy pop music, and her "creativity", wether or not it's by her own imagination or image consultants, record label, etc, is still very unique. People don't do stuff like that in mainstream pop music anymore. It's like Björk bought all the back issues of Rolling Stone and Teen Beat and shit, memorized it, put the different "looks" throughout the years into a blender with some acid and out came Lady Gaga, my generation's answer to Madonna. Bold statement, I know. I shouldn't like Lady Gaga, but I think she's poised to be one of the greats in the next 10 or 15 years. If she fizzles into obscurity within the next year or so, then the egg is on my face, but I don't think she will. She has actual talent, all it takes is a YouTube search to find it, and the mystique and look of Lady Gaga alter ego can only help her career. It's show business, after all, you have to have something that will keep you in the game. Hopefully, she'll learn that she can't always rely on shock value, and change with the times when it's appropriate. So, I like Gaga. Ke$ha is flavor of the month. by it's very definition. I like "Tik Tok" for some reason, but I can't bring myself to listen to anything else off that record. I know that's the only song I like without looking or reading reviews for the album, I can just tell. Gaga's singles made me want to hear the rest of the album. Ke$ha doesn't. This might make the "Tik Tok" song more bearable for some of you, though.
I have seen some of her pre-fame performances and they were okay. Nothing mind-blowing. And to me it doesn't matter how good she is on the piano, when half her songs are generic synth based pop/dance tunes. At the end of the day her whole in-your-face and shock driven act just pushes the music out of people's sight and leaves them discussing how ridiculous she looked in *insert award show/music video*
