Seriously, what the hell happened to Korn? They peaked with Follow The Leader and it's been downhill ever since.
Agreed. I'm not really digging this new song. A LOT better than My Time though. I'm really sad to see the experimentation from the Untitled album all gone...I finally saw growth, just to be crushed.
Wow. It's like, the first album. But shit. They should've kept up the experimentation, I agree. Untitled was a really good album, as was Untoucables, and even SYOTOS. This is just like Korn making a mockery of themselves.
Hmph, I can't seem to find anything else other than the My Time video that first came around in the beginning of the year.
Like what else? Also the song's named has been changed to "Are You Ready To Live" and there's apparently a "produced" version floating around. See what you can get from that.
They changed the name? Damn...I was really hoping it wasn't on the album. Hopefully they changed it. {Edit} No...no they didn't. It still sucks just as bad as it did before.
It sounds mostly the same, a bit better, but the whole "crying" vocals sprinkled throughout are left unchanged, which is a shame. I do believe this'll be an album I'll torrent and just pick 2 or 3 songs and throw the rest out. I always try to support bands I like, but unless the rest of this album is substantially better it looks as though the Korn boys have lost my support.
Well, all they really need to do is stop trying to please the people that say to go back to the old sound. There was a time for that. The band has grown and changed. Likewise their music should reflect this.
That's where I disagree. I like the last couple of albums they have done. Mostly because they weren't trying to redo what they did.
Agreed. All these people tell them to go back to how they were. Now we've got evidence of how bad an idea that is. At least what they were doing was somewhat interesting and different. Personally I thought it was great (3/4 of the time anyway)
Take a Look in the Mirror was a testament to how awful "Korn imitating Korn" was. 7 years ago. Unfortunately, that album was considered a classic among Korns "hardcore" fanbase, and these two songs appear to be getting the same amount of love from what I can see. I'm going to laugh like hell when the album tanks and none of them can figure out why.
Somebody enlighten me. Why is the new album titled: Korn III Remember Who You Are. 'Korn III'? I'm assuming that it signifies that the band themselves consider this upcoming effort as the third album that truly represents their sound as opposed to the rest in their discography? On another note, Korn's appearance and sound just oozes, "exhausted". A little hiatus would help them out I believe, ignoring financial issues the members may face.
Because it's the 3rd album they've done with Ross Robinson, who encouraged them to "go back where they were", so they're considering it the 3rd "real" Korn album. I however think it's dumb as shit, both for the rational behind it and that it's called Korn Three Remember Who You Are.
Haha. The whole ordeal sounds so cheesy. I was actually pretty excited for their next release after their 'Untitled' album dropped, but after Oildale hit the web, and the whole "remember who you are" ordeal has surfaced. Blech. Let's hope they haven't totally dropped the ball.
