Congratulations, you've just defined: Record company.
Record companies = PWNED! But yeah its the business philosphy. Its like they bought the band so they can do whatever the hell they want with it.

Think about it. Listen to a sample-heavy song by LP such as, say, Faint then listen to an NIN or Skinny Puppy song.
funny i never thought evanscence sounded like linkin park..now that i think about it..they somewhat do. lets just hope they don't try finding a guy to scream on their forthe coming songs..that'll be way to much.
Yeah, it's hard, but you can do it if you want it bad enough. Most bands just don't do it because they want to be like their favorite bands. I still wonder if Sepultra really did copy them...
If that happened, they would get even more comparison to Lacuna Coil than they do now, not Linkin Park. They only got compared to Linkin Park because deaf people thought Paul McCoy was rapping on "Bring Me To Life" when he wasn't. None of their other songs sound even remotely like Linkin Park.
They only got compared to Linkin Park because deaf people thought Paul McCoy was rapping on "Bring Me To Life" when he wasn't.
I resent that comment! Both my parents are profoundly deaf. Look up rap in any dictionary - Websters, oxford or whatever - and it will say rapping is speaking/shouting to a rhythm, which is what Paul Mcoy was doing. It's that kind of mentality that makes gangsta rap fans say that The Beastie Boys and Run DMC can't rap, just because they do a different style.
I apologize then. But even he has said he wasn't rapping.
Fair enough if Paul said that. But still, it was shouting to a rhythm.
Which is exactly what Mike does, just not as aggressive. Then again, Chester does a lot of Mike's vocals. I doubt he had any say into what he was doing.
I apologize then. But even he has said he wasn't rapping.
And all nu metal bands say they're not nu metal. [/sarcasm] I don't think he's really rapping too, besides the part in the end where he has the swapping vocals with Amy, but again, i don't think LP have THAT profound an influence on other bands after only one studio album. So Jon's comment was kinda odd.

Exactly. Thats how he sings. Thats also how he sings when he couldnt give a shit about the song hes being forced to sing in.
I think he meant that Paul McCoy sang like he couldn't give a ####, because he was forced to sing on it by Wind-Up when he didn't want to. Chester wasn't bad mouthing anyone, Jonathan was alittle weird on that interview. It was a pretty good read though
