    I think it's an overrated album. I think it's good, but not nearly as good as every one has cracked it up to be.

    It was good enough to win the Grammy for Album Of The Year, IMO.

    Okay I'll agree with that. I'm not trying to knock Green Day at all, they're one of my favorite bands. But I think the reason why some kids like it so much is because it's the only Green Day material they can swallow. And critics only like it so much because it's a ''Punk rock opera'' (I hate the term). With that aside, at least they did something different than their past albums.

    The thing with doing pretentious rock operas is, people are supposed to find out that it's a pretentious rock opera like, not when you give an interview promoting the album. It takes the whole surprise aura away, making it look like some sort of, intentional last-ditch effort to gain some credibility by being an art fuck.
