I still think it's his worst album, no matter how many chances I give it. Kanye's made such great albums and TLOP feels so undercooked. A lot of the songs get no reaction from me at all, which has never happened before. I'm glad he's coming out with another album soon though. Ultralight Beam and No More Parties are still some of Kanye's best songs ever though. It's just my opinion, but I think he would benefit from having one main collaborator overseeing his next album, like Jon Brion did for Late Registration.
So ... this album still isn't in its final form? I hope TIDAL subscribers ditch the service if this keeps going.
Ahhh yes. I see you and Mr. Yeezy talk about LP once in awhile. I was thinking of signing up but the shitposting got really bad there all together.
Yeah, I don't really like KTT cause I like actual conversation. Someone posts news, and the first page is filled with "IN", "*in gif*", "post #12 will sell for $50." and so on. It's just dumb. So I went to r/kanye, cause it seemed like a better option for me, as I spend a lot of time on Reddit anyway. And it was cool there. And then it kinda became worse than KTT. Kanye fans are shit, apparently. Note: I think KTT has a beast site design, though. Except for video, audio and image embeds. What the fuck. Fix that.
There are some cool people there but way too many assholes for me to enjoy being there. Someone called me a "bitch", "bullshit front", and "stupid" because I said that a melody is a sequence of notes. I was like "really?". Also, so many conversations there are so vapid and filled with insults. It's like watching people argue on Facebook. I always feel like a worse person after going to KTT.
I fucking love this album. I listen to it at least 3 times a week, seriously. I adore it. Way better than Yeezus, but his gold standard is still My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
ehhhhh maaaybe I mean, I like quite a few of the songs, I think they're good ... but I don't think "The Life Of Pablo" is a great album. It's shaky and inconsistent.
Yeezus is one of my favorite albums by him. But then again 808s & Heartbreak is my favorite album, so I listen to his music differently I guess. My favorite songs on Pablo are "Ultralight Beam", "FML", and "Wolves"
I was just listening to Yeezus today and I was like "God damn, this album is still a 10 in my book." "Hold My Liquor" is like... the best thing ever. "Pablo" is like... a 7 if I'm being like reeeally generous.
I've always been a defender of 808s & Heartbreak. One of my favorite albums by Kanye, definitely. Tracks 9 through 19 on Life of Pablo could be a stand-alone album they're so good. I think my favorite song is probably either "Waves" or "30 Hours".
808s was the album that really made Kanye an inspiration for me. I loved the icy atmosphere and minimalism. I still don't think there's any album like it - I don't care how many snobs try to change my opinion of that. Have you listened to the updated version of Pablo? "30 Hours" knocks now, I love it.
I haven't listened to any versions of Pablo since the original came out the day after his SNL appearance. That's the version I burned to CD and that's in my car right now. Apparently it's on Spotify now, so I might listen to it later tonight.
Ew the changes made to FML. Like why, it was perfectly great before the changes, you're just ruining the atmosphere.
