I agree with a lot of this. It's kind of unreal to see him being one of the artists with no consideration for likability or positive media coverage. Not saying that it's a good or bad thing. It just makes him totally stand out from the rest of the people in the celebrity world, because they feel if they speak their mind, they'll lose something or hurt their public image. I remember at the Yeezus show in Chicago, he did a funny monologue (or whatever you call it) about Michael Jordan and how he should've never joined the Wizards. Fitting, since we were at the United Center, famous for being a home for the Chicago Bulls - Chicago is also Kanye's hometown. In Newark, he talked about seeing Daft Punk's show at Coachella and feeling inspired to create better stage designs like he did for the Glow in the Dark and Yeezus tour. He also said something about iTunes needing to pay artists better and how Tim Cook didn't need any more money, literally said "You are rich AS FUCK!!!", it made everyone laugh
Am I the only one who thinks Kanye is just as bad as ICP? Kanye is a no talent joke. He is more famous for his antics than his music. "For all my Southside niggas that know me best I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex Why? I made that bitch famous (God damn) I made that bitch famous For all the girls that got dick from Kanye West If you see 'em in the streets give 'em Kanye's best Why? They mad they ain't famous (God damn) They mad they're still nameless (Talk that talk, man) Her man in the store tryna try his best But he just can't seem to get Kanye fresh But we still hood famous (God damn) Yeah we still hood famous" I can't listen to an entire Kanye song without cringing.
His "Saint Pablo" tour kicked off yesterday in Indianapolis, Indiana where he performed most of the set on a fully-moving, floating stage above the audience. "I have a fucking Ph.D. in art, you know? And not that that would even make the difference, but me saying that makes the difference to the exact people I'm talking to it's, like, shut the fuck up. I will fucking laser you with alien fucking eyes and explode your fucking head. Shut the fuck up – try to write a rap. Okay then. I made this fucking T-shirt, now shut up. And it cost me everything I had and I gave everything I had." - Kanye West, 2016
